I was reading an article on how Kylie Jenner feels like an outcast and she was diagnosed with depression. At first I thought, KYLIE JENNER? DEPRESSED? WITH ALL THAT MONEY? yeah right.

But then I was thinking about other celebrities and Robin Williams came into mind. He had depression and he was an 'inspiration for making us laugh when he didn't feel like laughing himself'

Both rich. Both suffer(ed) with the same condition. So why the different attitude towards the condition with certain people?

Being rich and famous doesn't make you happy.

Those particular celebs give/gave across the impression they were/are happy and thriving.

I will always have sympathy for anybody suffering with depression or mental illness, but in celeb world a lot of them seem to use that as an excuse for their (sometimes criminal) behaviour.

I think people reflect themselves on others.. they hear about x being depressed, and they see qualities of x than they want in themselves, and then it doesnt make sense that x is depressed because they have that one quality that they want.. "how can x be depressed when he gets all the girls in the world? How can x be depressed with all that money? How can x be depressed with that huge family? I wish I could have that"
When actually, these qualities are not contributing positively or negatively to the individuals depression, its an entirely separate entity, and theres more to x than what others see on the surface.
