Default Paris Hilton Sentenced to 45 days in County Jail (Topics merged)

Congrats Paris haters, you got your wish.

Quote:
Paris Hilton Sentenced to 45 days in County Jail
LOS ANGELES -- A judge sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail Friday for violating her probation, putting the brakes on the hotel heiress' famous high life.

Hilton, who parlayed her name and relentless partying into worldwide notoriety, must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, no furloughs, no use of an alternative jail and no electronic monitoring in lieu of jail, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing.

The heiress arrived at court 10 minutes late in the back of a black Cadillac Escalade and swept into the Metropolitan Courthouse with several men in suits, ignoring screams of photographers lining the route into a rear entrance. Her parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, also came with her.

Wearing a gray jacket and white shirt over black slacks and with a black headband on, she said nothing and appeared serious.

The celebrity case brought an unusual scene to the austere courthouse south of downtown in a commercial area. As if at a red carpet event, dozens of photographers and reporters lined up at the rear entrance. Yellow police tape substituted for velvet ropes.

TV trucks were parked nearby to beam the news worldwide and a helicopter hovered overhead. Extra sheriff's deputies stood guard.

Hilton, 26, pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood. Police said she appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. She had a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent, the level at which an adult driver is in violation of the law.

She was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines.

Two other traffic stops and failure to enroll in a mandated alcohol education program, are what landed the socialite back in court.

On Jan. 15, Hilton was pulled over by California Highway Patrol. Officers informed her that she was driving on a suspended license and she signed a document acknowledging that she was not to drive, according to papers filed in Superior Court.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies stopped Hilton on Feb. 27 and charged her with violating her probation. Police said she was pulled over at about 11 p.m. after authorities saw the car speeding with its headlights off.

Hilton's spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said at the time Hilton wasn't aware her license was suspended. A copy of the document Hilton signed on Jan. 15 was found in the car's glove compartment, court papers say.

I have always been a huge Paris fan.
Believe it or not when she first came on to the scene and nobody had heard of her I still loved her then.
People may say 'rich girl' Paris will get off easy or whatever but really she's just another silly girl who made a huge mistake.
Except Paris has to deal with people judging her for this (not just family and friends but the public) and you can bet your bottom dollar she will be harassed and bullied by other inmates when she goes in.
Paris I love you so much and you are in my prayers

She is a pampered heiress and they are tough and mean jailbirds. They will taunt her and bully her which nobody deserves.

I have posted this in the other paris thread but feel I need to post this again in this one as its important:

Can I state that people who had different opinions to those of you who love Paris shouldn’t be singled out and called paris haters. This is intimidating. I have just looked through a few thread and I can see a few members have singled out one of these so called ‘haters’ and actually called them one.

She broke the law and people are allowed a different opinion to others

A little maturity would be appreciated.

Well maybe She will learn from it.

If She didn't want to go to jail, she should have violated her probation. I mean its only 45 days, i think she can cope. There are women who are wrongly imprisoned in places in India & Africa for simply stealing bread to feed there children.

Im gonna ignore that immature Bob Geldof comment.

But for the rest: Yes, She did make a stupid mistake, but She obliviously knew what she was doing. She did the crime, and She should do the time.

Several stupid mistakes:
Quote:
Hilton, 26, pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood. Police said she appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. She had a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 percent, the level at which an adult driver is in violation of the law.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies stopped Hilton on February 27 and charged her with violating her probation. Police said she was pulled over about 11 p.m. after authorities saw the car speeding with its headlights off.

Mintz said at the time Hilton wasn't aware her license was suspended. A copy of the document Hilton signed on January 15 was found in the car's glove compartment, court papers say.

Hilton was also required to enroll in an alcohol education program by February 12. As of April 17, she had not enrolled, prosecutors said.

People do make mistakes though, i've made mistakes you must have made mistakes, she doesn't deserve to go to jail over it.

This thread is just going to turn into a Fan vs Hater argument.

I don't really give a stuff what she did anymore, she made a few mistakes and hurt nobody. She doesn't deserve it, if you watched a video about it on x17 her lawyer said that he has had many clients who haven't been sent to prison over this case, the judge has jailed her becuase of who she is.

The media edit Paris to make her look wild and crazy which she actually isn't.
She, like any other girl her age, likes to go out and they're intent on making her in to this coke w*ore airhead which she isn't.

Exactly, Why could'nt she of got a slap on the wrist, told not to do it again and thats it, he had no right putting her in jail. if it was a stranger on the street who did it, they would have got fined but because of who paris is, the idoit jailer her.

You don't know Paris Hilton. You know the ditzy, fashion loving, party loving Paris that She is portrayed as in Simple Life and in her book etc. People can take there pick and either choose to believe the Paris i described above, or the Paris the media portray of the all night party *****.

Either way, nobody really knows Paris except for her close friends, family and herself.

This isn't the first time Paris has been in trouble with the law, i mean she has been pictured snorting coke. I think 45 days might hopefully do her some good. like I've said before, She did the crime so she can do the time.

But have you broken the law several times? She knew she was on a suspended licence. She should have checked the details.

But she originally was charged with DUI and knew that she needed to take care. And so maybe nobody was hurt but they could have been!

Maybe she was singled out, but she clearly showed no sign of changing until she was put up in front a of judge.

Maybe that another reason she has been sentanced

Ever heard of photoshop?
That was like the time they snapped her with 'marijuana' except it was the tobacco she used to roll her cigarettes.

I love Paris, but the laws are the laws. No really, when she did that, what did she expect ? That everybody will congrat her ? Ok she was in the magazines, but before she's a citizen. I love her, she's great, but she's liek us, no difference, it will be unfair !
