Megan McKenna has fired back at nasty trolls who took aim of her figure and labelled her 'anorexic.'

The TOWIE star, who has just*topped the country music charts with her two new music singles, didn't hold back as she described battling with the lifelong illness, Coeliac disease - the real reason for her weight loss.*

The Essex beauty, 24, admitted that ahead of her journey to music stardom in Nashville she was rushed 'in and out of hospital' and was worried about the affect her haters would have on her young fans who leaped into to defend her on Instagram.*

Speaking of the negative backlash surrounding her figure, Megan stated: 'It’s not nice as no one would call someone fat, but they think it’s OK to call me anorexic.

The bold beauty, who suffers from Coeliac and has recently been diagnosed with*Irritable Bowel Syndrome, expanded on her health worries that have caused her to slim down.*

'I was so ill with my belly before I went to Nashville and I was in and out of the hospital and no one knew what was wrong with me, so yes I was thin as I was unwell,' she revealed, while also referencing*Coeliac disease as 'a serious and life-changing illness.'

Coeliac disease is a common digestive condition where the*small intestine becomes inflamed and is unable to absorb nutrients found typically in wheat, barley and rye


Addressing the trolls who have labelled her 'anorexic' on her Instagram platform, where she boasts 2 million followers, Megan stated: 'People need to realise I’m always going to have problems with this and not troll me.'

She also claimed that she was 'really ill growing up', but despite being trolled was worried for the emotional safety of her followers who may face backlash for sticking up for her. *

Megan, who has rekindled her flame with beau Pete Wicks, recently took a break from TOWIE to film her own reality show There's Something About Megan, which saw her jet to Nashville, Tennessee to try and make it as a country singer.


After showing off her vocals on the show, the brunette went on to release her two singles during the last episode, titled High Heeled Shoes and Far Cry From Love.*

The songs rocketed to the top of the iTunes chart just 24 hours after their release - bagging the number one and two spots on both the UK singles and UK country charts, and remaining there for several days.

She even knocked big country hitter Taylor Swift off the top spot, which she admitted to MailOnline felt like a dream.

She revealed last week: 'I love the old Taylor, when she did Our Song and Teardrops On My Guitar, and the really heartfelt stuff.*

'That's why I'm hoping people will love my music as its so real. The lyrics, the feelings, they're all me. I'm just happy everyone loves it.'

While she is carving a successful career in music, Megan is best known for her role on TOWIE - and admitted to MailOnline she planned to juggle the two commitments for the near future.

However the reality star no doubt feels more comfortable than ever on the ITVBe show, thanks to her relationship with Pete Wicks.

Megan and Pete briefly split in March this year, after their relationship hit a tumultuous patch when she discovered conversations of a sexual nature Pete had with his ex-girlfriends on his phone.*
