Weapon reportedly has a range capable of reaching Israel and Saudi Arabia
(CNN) Iran tested a new ballistic missile that is reportedly capable of carrying multiple warheads, the nation's state-run broadcaster announced Saturday. Iran unveiled the ballistic missile Friday at a military parade in Tehran and successfully tested it the same day, Press TV reported. It said Iran released footage of the test-launch. Called the Khorramshahr missile, the weapon has a range of 1,250 miles (2,000 kilometers) and can carry multiple warheads, according to Press TV. The Khorramshahr missile has become smaller in size and more tactical and it will be operational in the near future," the broadcaster said. The missile was launched from an unknown location. With such a range, the missile would be easily capable of reaching Israel and Saudi Arabia. Speaking during Friday's parade, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Tehran would press ahead with strengthening its missile capabilities and military defenses, Press TV reported. http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/23/middle...est/index.html |

Israel has been testing its own ballistic missiles since the late 80s. If you look up Jericho III you will see Israel's ballistic missiles will go a lot further than Irans ballistic missiles. Why is it okay for Israel to build and test their payloads and not Iran.

Nuclear non-proliferation is an important goal but extending that to saying the "no one else is allowed to have ANY military tech comparable to ours" is sketchy at best. Last edited by Toy Soldier; 24-09-2017 at 12:33 AM. |

At any rate, Trump has been going on about how he doesn't agree with the agreement, so maybe he'll wake up and realize, North Korea isn't going to believe he'll honor any agreement.

The most hypocritical thing about it is that the Country that's usually acting like they have the right to dictate who does and who doesn't get to have the same right's to possess nuclear weapons as they do, the USA, are still the only Country to have committed the ultimate act of Nuclear aggression by dropping Nuclear weapons on a densely populated civilian target......TWICE!!!! Japan had all but surrendered by that point (the agreement was drawn up and awaiting the signatures) but the US were hellbent on using the 'opportunity' to test two different types of Atomic Bomb on ''live targets'', a plutonium implosion-type (known as 'Fat Man') bomb was dropped on Nagasaki and a uranium gun-type (known as 'Little Boy') bomb was dropped on Hiroshima resulting in at least 129,000 deaths!!!! As well as seeing this as an opportunity to test the weapons in a 'Real-World' scenario the other main motivation as recognized by many leading scholars in the field was 'Atomic Diplomacy' in that the United States used nuclear weapons in order to intimidate the Soviet Union in the early stages of the Cold War. And when you've got someone as ignorant and ill-informed as Trump playing at being the US President, a man who didn't (and probably still really doesn't) grasp the concept of Nuclear Armageddon the whole situation is made exponentially more dangerous. Hopefully, by this stage in his calamitous excuse for a 'Presidency', i'd like to believe that any wires to any dangerous buttons Trump may have access to have been well and truly disconnected. Who knows just how far he'd go to distract from his many rapidly escalating scandals. |
