What's the point? People who think they're nonbinary are male or female, and will look male or female.

This is the exact tragic-kinda post I saw coming that made me think I should put it in serious debates instead of elsewhere.. Wasn't expecting it so early on, I'll be honest, kudos for that.

Can you have a serious debate about emojis and people who think they're nonbinary?

I cba to have that debate atm, but there's clearly an opposing side to what is common knowledge, so I guess yes, unfortunately, that debate could be had.

(yes people can be male, female, both, or neither, no this doesn't always coincide with their genitals. Read more about things you're unsure of perhaps).

Nah they can't. Gender is the sex of your brain, if you have a female brain in a male body, you're trans. This much is neurologically observable and medically diagnosable. There is no scientific basis to being neither gender or both genders.

Suggesting that all male brains are the exact same, that all female brains are the exact same, and nobody has ever had something remotely resembling anything between the only two brain types is a bold statement. Utterly ridiculous, lol. But bold. You do you.

Strawman. I never all male brains are the same. That's like saying a man who has an effeminate nose has a nonbinary face. Sure some brains might not be typically fully male, but there's no science to support that meaning their brain is nonbinary.

Whilst neuroanatomists have researched a lot more of the brains hemispheres over the last 50 years, we still have little understanding of how processing is made across those hemispheres. We may never know the true complexities of how the brain works. So just because there is no scientific basis, we shouldn't' assume there's no such thing as 'no' gender. We accept that you can be physically born with two genders and that hermaphrodites will follow both male and female patterns of the sex they were born with. Physical appearance makes it obvious but there's no proof that a hermaphrodite can't be born without both male and female organs.

I don't understand how you're coming so close but missing it all.

"Some brains might not be typically fully male" so what would that make them? Semi-male? Is there another phrase for that?

Or, even more ludicrously, are you suggesting that there's a scale of very-female to marginally-female, and a scale of very-male to marginally-male and absolutely no inbetween area?

I don't get how your words are making sense to you. You're fully acknowledging a more-male brain, but refusing to acknowledge the possibility that maybe some have a bit of both male and female inside their brain? This isn't a logical train of thought. I think reread your own words, it's all there, you're just missing the obvious conclusion.

Nope, they're just male.

There's nothing to suggest that someone can be neither gender. Any "in between area" would be one of the marginals.

So like an on/off switch? Or a double sided coin? That's your conclusion to how gender in the brain works? That's plausible to you? I kinda refuse to believe you believe that at this point.

A quick Google shows that, on average those who identify as male have 7x more gray matter as female, and those who identify as female have 10x more white matter as male.

There are several other differences as you're aware, but hypothetically, how would your double sided coin work if someone had 3.5x more gray matter than the average girl, and 5x more white matter than the average man? What if all the differences in the brain were an exact midway split between the two most common genders? Would they still be marginally one sided? Or perhaps, could they be somewhere in between?

I think you're just being stubborn tbh, your argument doesn't make sense on any level really.

That was my first thought tbh. Like who even uses the little emojis that look like people? The classic bald yellow emojis have always been gender neutral ...

Everyone is non-binary by very definition...there may be 1 or 2 people in the world who are purely feminine or masculine, and embody every stereotype...but these people (if they exist at all) are rare. So really, non-binary is the 'norm' anyway so those claiming snowflake status because of it are kinda mistaken. Its also rather insulting to suggest that everyone besides you and your friends is 'cis' meaning they identify with the stereotypical roles associated with their sex. Which is usually how these kinds of conversations go down...

More emojis is always a good thing though tbh But why there needs to be a huge hooha over some female people liking having short hair, or males liking to wearing dresses...its kind of beyond me.
