I shall show the same sympathy that thier fellow climbers do at times like this and just carry on with my day as if nothing has happened.

well I feel sorry and send my condolences to their family and friends. But, I think the climbers should have at least thought twice considering its illegal to even climb to the top and there is a high avalanche risk.
TomToWin, I think that was quite rude...even if it was partly their fault that they died, at least have some sympathy...

Sorry but no, do they care about starting avalanches that could kill someone not involved in the climb?

No they do not.Why should I have sympathy for people so selfish?

Let's hope when they decided to climb a mountain where they were well-aware that their actions could start an avalanche, that no innocent person was killed because of their stupidity. Also, let's hope no rescuer is injured or killed trying to get to their sorry arses. On the bright side, they're out of the gene-pool now, like Trumpet said... kind of.

yeah okay it's their own stupid actions which got them killed, but i also hope no innocent person if they did a tour, cause you have these Climbing adventures with so called ''experts'' but this is like another accident who had expertise

i will never go on such a dangerous adventure, cause i don't want to be killed on my holiday

http://www.thesundaily.my/news/2017/...anche-mongolia
Ten climbers who ignored a ban on ascending Mongolia's Mount Otgontenger have been killed by an avalanche while seven others are still missing, rescue services said Monday.

The Mongolian nationals have been missing since Sunday after reaching the peak of the 4,021m mountain, the National Emergency Management Agency said.

The bodies were found at a lower altitude of 3,400m, according to the agency.

The group was made up of four women and 13 men aged 30 to 50, and it is unclear who among them are still missing.

A separate team of 10 climbers managed to make it down the mountain safely.

Rescue operations were suspended in the evening because of darkness and will start again Tuesday morning.

Otgontenger is a popular destination for climbing tourism, boasting the country's most extensive granite wall.

Just four other climbers have died since the 1960s, but the environment ministry in 2015 banned climbing for safety reasons. — AFP

So it looks like its going to be 17 killed because anyone who is left injured overnight on a mountain like that isn't likely to make it.

I started rock climbing with my dad when I was about 9 years old and my husband and I are still keen rock climbers. I love climbing granite and can see why these climbers wanted to make this pilgrimage but they were unwise to climb in a high avalanche risk area. They died doing what they loved best... taking risks.

Having lost a few friends to avalanches, I just hope their end came quickly and I give my thoughts to family and friends left behind.

if ur under the snow, you have about 30 minutes to be awaiting rescue, after that you are most likely dead

even if you have the gear required, you wouldn't be able to make it because of the low temperatures due to the high altitude, the missing ones are most likely dead by now and it would be a miracle if one of the climbers make it out alive...

A little more information

At a press conference, Brigadier General and first deputy head of the National Emergency Management Agency G. Ariunbuyan said these bodies were found at an altitude of 3200-3450 meters, saying that these mountaineers may have fallen from the cliff.

The 17 Mongolians, including seven women, were among a group of 27 mountain climbers who successfully stood on Mount Otgontenger, but they ran into a snow avalanche when they descended. http://www.dailyfinland.fi/worldwide...nt-Otgontenger

So they were on their way down when they ran into a snow avalanche. They didn't start the avalanche.

they possibly also had shirpa's with them, who know the place so well, but they couldn't have mentioned or warned them about this area being dangerous

Ban all dangerous sports and pastimes! They deserved it .
I remember a thread relating to a star who died while driving very fast and furious... there were no such slurs in relation to that iirc.

Would people say things like, "they deserved it" and "they deserved to be eliminated via natural selection" if it was a friend or relative?

People take risks even if its just going over the speed limit.
A few years ago a climbing friend of mine was killed in an avalanche up in the Haute Alps. She'd successfully recovered from breast cancer but had lost a lot of muscle under one arm but that didn't stop her climbing high grades. She just had the buzz and nothing was going to stop her. She and two others were killed skiing off-piste in an area known for avalanches and where people were warned not to go. She lived for taking risks and she died taking that risk. People who don't know her may say she deserved it; I say, she deserved to make that decision and if she could talk from her grave, she'd be telling us that she takes full responsibility for what happened to her.
