I'm pretty sure I've made a thread like this once before, but now that the festive season is approaching and Christmas shopping is due, what do you prefer? Giving or receiving gifts?
For me, there's nothing more warming at Christmas than watching somebody open a gift you've been waiting for them to see for ages. It's one of the reasons why I find Christmas shopping so enjoyable. |

Giving 100% I never even know what to ask for for myself. It's almost like a challenge for me every year or for every birthday to think of an unusual but fitting present for people

It actually isn't a lie, maybe when/if you have kids you will change your mind, watching them opening their presents is better than anything

Recieving. Giving is worse for me cause I'm too paranoid people wont like something I buy for them, I just don't know if I can take that kind of rejection.

You know my methods

Unless I have specifically asked for a gift then 9 times out of 10 I don't need or want the gift and will probably sell it ASAP. Unless it's whisky.
I like to give gifts that the person knows and has asked for. So neither really |

I love giving best, but now the kids are all grown up it's not quite the same.
I do like opening gifts as well, from hubby and kids, as they understand fully that if I don't like it they will be told. |

Giving.
Receiving isn't as fun as you get older tbh. That, and like Amy said, it feels awkward. |
