Socialite Paris Hilton has insisted she is not above the law and will take her punishment for violating probation on the chin. Paris Hilton, five days after she was sentenced to jail, has said she understands the seriousness of drink-driving. "I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation," Hilton said in a statement. "I do not expect to be treated better than anyone else who violated probation. However, my hope is that I will not be treated worse." The 26-year-old added: "I feel the need to correct what I believe are misperceptions about me. "I absolutely realise how serious driving under the influence is. "I could not live with myself if anyone was injured or killed while I was driving while impaired. Clearly, no one should - no matter how slightly." Hilton must begin her 45-day prison sentence at the Los Angeles Century Regional Detention Facility on June 5 or else risk seeing her sentence doubled. She was handed her jail term after a court ruled she had broken her probation by twice driving while banned earlier this year following a conviction for drink-driving. Lawyers have said they will appeal the decision. |

From The Sun
DISTRESSED PARIS HILTON fled her lawyers’ office in tears as she launched a desperate bid to avoid jail. The hotel heiress claims she has received death threats and admitted: “I’m very scared.” Paris, 26, who was given a 45-day sentence for driving while disqualified, says inmates have put messages on her website such as: “I’m going to kill you.” A friend added: “One person wrote she is going to steal Paris’s shoes — and if she argues, she’ll be beaten to a pulp. It's horrifying.” But last night it was revealed that Paris WILL be segregated from dangerous prisoners for safety. She will get a regulation blue jumpsuit when she checks into Century Regional Detention Facility at Lynwood, California, which she must do by June 5. But Paris will be kept separate from more violent offenders in a “special needs” unit for profile lags. Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said Paris will be locked up in a cell — 8ft by 12ft — 23 hours a day but will be away from the 2,200 inmates. Sgt Whitmore said: “She’s going to be assigned a two-person cell in an area for inmates with special needs, and she most likely will have another inmate in the cell with her.” Paris will be let out of her cell for an hour a day to shower, stretch her legs, use the phone or watch TV. She can expect three meals each day — with dinner her only hot food. She admitted: “I’m very scared but I’m grateful for the support and calls I’m getting.” Paris has hired a hot-shot lawyer Richard Hutton, who specialises in clients accused of drunk driving, to prepare her appeal. But the blonde seemed to be sobbing as she left his offices with mum Kathy on Tuesday. A pal said: “Paris is distraught. She can’t eat, she can’t sleep, she’s terrified. This is a nightmare.” California Governor ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER has promised to review her case — but not until she has exhausted the appeal process. Yesterday TV star and singer Paris was back driving her £120,000 Bentley from her Hollywood home to meet ex-fiancé PARIS LATSIS. She is allowed on the road because her ban expired on March 29. |

Hmmmm....yet yesterday, she was urging people to sign a petition to say that she shouldn't go to prison because she brings excitement and glamour to people's lives.
Really? Well I suppose she was indirectly responsible for bringing a bit of excitement to this board! |

The problem with a lot of these statements Ruth, is that most of them will be coming from her P.R. people instead of directly from Paris herself. So, we wont ever truly know how she feels about all this. We wont know if she is genuinely remorseful, or if she feels hard done by. The media spin everything out of control.
However, it doesn't look good for her appeal, so I think she will indeed be doing her time. |

Maybe someone has actually told her that jail term will make her bank balance even bigger than it is already and she now has a positive to come from it all

I am glad to see that she is going to be kept safe but will be serving her time in a way appropriate to any other prisoner. She is vulnerable and is being treated that way which as long as it doesnt involve private manicurists and hairdressers sounds ok to me lol

Get over the initial shock and then see it positively for the rewards that it will bring. Crazy but true. Column inches = more money opportunities and even greater celebrity. |

When Nicole goes down (fingers crossed) they can do - The Simple Life 7 - The Prison Break. Whare they would plan a Prison Break style escape and then have a season where they're on the run. All filmed , of course.
