There have been rumours of a Star Wars live action tv series. Would you watch it?

If they did it well then sure but I'd prefer they just focused on the films. I don't feel like it's needed.

I'm not really sure it's something that could be done well on a TV budget. I could just see it turning into the Star Wars equivalent of Inhumans.

Only if it's like Cheers and set in the Chalmun's cantina on Mos Eisley.

Other than that I get what you're saying, they would probably have to keep space-scenes to a minimum or they would eat the entire budget. Other than that though, it should be more or less OK... e.g. lightsabre special effects are apparently very easy and cost next to nothing. Basically involves waving around a green stick, which they turn into a glowing stick... there's no 3D rendering or animation involved. I'd watch it if it was well received but I think they'd have to keep it focussed on smaller stories and leave the bigger scale stuff to the movies, or risk it looking cheap. On the other hand... Disney might use it to sell their upcoming Netflix rival service, in which case they will throw boatloads of cash at it. |

I'd watch it yeah, but it will have a much lower budget than the films. If you take out the planet scenes from The Last Jedi, leaving the space stuff, you probably get a typical episode. Or maybe a static set on a planet. In the first batch of Star Trek: Discovery episodes they only went to a planet's surface once, if I remember rightly. So like that. |

I'd watch just because it's Star Wars but with a film coming out every year it really isn't needed

Forgot to add, I'll watch it if I don't have to pay much.
I want to watch the two most-recent seasons of the animated show Star Wars: Rebels, but it is not on any of the main streaming-services as part of the subscription and I don't like it enough to buy individual episodes or DVDs. Lovefilm didn't have it before it closed either. |
