Default Help! Blocked nose!

Hello forum

I’m not going to lie I’m feeling bloody rubbish at the moment. Got the worst cold. Sore throat I can handle but it’s the blocked nose that’s giving me grief . I soldier on but night time im struggling to sleep . In all my years alive, whenever I have a cold , ’ve not really found a solution to help . I breathe through my nose when I sleep . Anyone can offer some helpful suggestions to help me get a good nights sleep while my nose is blocked?

Ron

A pot with hot water and breathe in the steam, covering your head with a towel. It sometimes helps

Press the space at the top of your nose that’s in the middle of your eyebrows for about 30 secs
This releases your sinuses or something and clears it up
it works for me

But only use it for 3 days otherwise it’ll cause rebound congestion

My brother used to swear by this. I’ll buy some tomorrow as we have none in the house. The older I get the worse my colds seem to get.

Thanks for all your recommendations. Ron.

It'll be sinusitis which means there's nothing (or not much) actually in there - the sinuses themselves are swollen which makes them block themselves.

You have a tragic choice to make;

Otrivine Sinusitis Spray will DEFINITELY clear your breathing. However, if it affects you like it affects me, it will also kill your sense of smell for 2 or 3 days (completely) and everything you eat will taste like cardboard. I avoid using it until I'm feeling truly miserable - just because it totally puts me off food for so long .

But yeah... I pretty much guarantee it'll unblock your nose. Works almost instantly, really weird feeling.

Put a few drops of olbas oil on your pillow, leave the window open a tiny bit to circulate a bit of oxygen aired water and honey for your throat, 1 paracetamol and 1 ibuprofen.
