"A woman fighting to stop doctors ending life support treatment for her sick 11-month-old son has told a judge that God should decide when he dies." "Ventilator dependent" I'm getting sick to death of people like this obstructing the wellbeing of others because of RELIGIOUS beliefs. Believe in what you want but not when it impinges on other people and their rights. Even if they did keep this poor child alive, he would lead an awful life being restricted from life opportunities. |

A parent should always be involved in decisions relating to their childs life, unless you think parents should walk away if a child is disabled?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Should they? No. Impossible to say what I would say if my child were in such a situation though. Not so much out of "praying for a miracle" or some such, but there would certainly be a lot of knuckle-dragging before I could make the decision to let them go painlessly.

I'm not saying that at all, I'm saying if health professionals think that the child will be in lots of pain, will have essentially a **** life and is dependent on a ventilator and they recommend the child being put out of pain then I think the parents should go with that. Going against it on the grounds of religion I think is silly.

And yes if I had a kid with these circumstances I would be the same, challenging it. But doing it on the grounds of religion which has no scientific basis is not good enough in my opinion.
This will end similarly to the Charlie Gard case I think. |

I dont think anyone knows how they would handle a situation of this magnitude until they find themselves in that awful situation. I am sure people would use every line of defence to try and buy more time, even when you know its a losing battle you would want to fight.

I don’t think these cases should be publicised it’s between the parents and the doctors, Charlie Gard was slightly different as funds were raised, I haven’t been following this case but the parents need time out of the public eye to come to terms with tak8ng him off life support
