Default Virgin Media is sponsering BB8 but does the advertiser attract you to their products/media/etc..?

We have all heard of Richard Branson & Virgin

Virgin Media is sponsering this years Big Brother 8 and took over the sponsership, where Car Phone Warehouse left behind, "due to CBB Jan's past furore"

BUT, BUT, BUT??????????

When you see these adverts from Vigin Media, does it make anyone here think to themselves:-

"I shall look into Virgin Media and spend some money on their products, media, etc...?

Or do you just ignore it and just think of the BB show only?

Just imagine how much money Virgin Media have spent

I haven't even thought about spending money with them. I'm quite happy with who I am.

Virgin Media are a con because they took off Sky One where Lost and and this other show are watched alot so they are kicking themselves in the foot as no one will want to buy their service when the channels that have the most watched programmes on arent on that package. I have Sky Digital and Cable tv and I am quite happy with them both so I wont be changing my tv services for Virgin Media.

I'm with Sky but I have considered changing recently to virgin.

My dish needs sorting out because it wasn't set-up in the right place and I like the replay feature on virgin.

More than that I hate Sky's we can hold people to ransom attitude!

sattelite isn't really worth it anyway. You get allmost as much with freeview now anyway. I might downgrade from sky to just a digie box.

I'm with virgin media, and I'm very happy with it, the V+ service is great and if anything goes wrong with the boxes I have they will fix them free,I don't think that is possible with the sky box,I used to be with sky but only went with them because cable was not hooked up when I moved to a new house,I was only with sky for 1 year, then went on to cable as soon as it became available at the new house. Also couldn't stand having a dish on the side of the house.
Not sure if the ads would have made me sign up to the service, although it would probably stick in my mind if I was thinking about signing up to a service(but I already have tv,phone and broadband,so not alot left to sign up to)

I think its not so much for making you want to go buy their product, but to familiarise you more with the brand.

I think it is about price and quality of product which is mostly important. I have Sky and we're happy with it.

But the real question, is, does the advertisor, "Virgin Media" attract anyone on this forum from either switching from Sky to Virgin Media, or just joining Virgin Media from just having freeview or just 5 channels.

p.s/ Virgin Media have tried to acquire Sky one, but they want too much money, so Virgin Media has just left it.

Sponsership for BB8 will hopefully make quite a few join Virgin Media, but that is always a gamble.

Well, if I was still on terrestrial with just the 6 channels and saw virgin media on BB then I probably would consider joining because it would be in my face for three months! However, I'm quite happy with sky and I've heared things like the menu's really difficult to use and you can't get sky channels so no!

Ive already got virgin media haha.
Oh and btw, the reason sky one was took off was because sky raised the price for the channel and virgin refused too pay for it as that would mean virgin media customers would have too pay more.

I prefer virgin media by far, i love my 4oD too much

Virgin Media took over Telewest & NTL

bought them out.

They don't offer anything as much as Sky though.

But things can change But they will be hoping to encourage a few BB viewers to go in their direction, I'm sure

I much prefer watching it on my big tv haha.
Plus they have tv choice, meaning you can watch houndreds of shows... such as full sreies of balls of steel, desp housewives, grand designs and all the big shows and stuff.

But this isnt a who is better sky or virgin thread... SO
I think the advert is more too get the virgin name accross... its new and it needs attention. And people will spread word and it will become alot more popular...
