What a ridiculous baity comment! There is evidence of corruption in many charities, aid organisations and even the UN.
How is cutting funding to the needy a solution? :/

..I have to say, although maybe something that would be ‘frowned on’...I don’t tend to donate cash and especially to larger charities...I have done, but more with smaller charities/volunteer projects etc, which I’ve had a personal connection with through someone, so I’ve been confident most is going directly to and used where needed...I guess I have the priveledge through my working life, of being aware of many individual projects and personally knowing those involved...but I prefer donating specific needed things or just even luxury things, some have never experienced before...I have always felt the larger charities were very much needed as well though...and this is all awful to have happened to potentially damage them...

yes there is and it is time to start somewhere, they need to prove that they are squeaky clean and that money isn't be wasted and that it is actually being routed to where it is most needed, not into huge salaries and expenses, there are a lot of good people in Oxfam being undone by a small percentage of bad apples time to root them out.

The boss lady of Oxfam didn't come across at all well when she was interviewed, and the CEO has publicly stated that he thinks Oxfam is being treated to harshly. I would be surprised if Oxfam is still going this time next year.

I only caught the end of Winnie's interview but what I saw was a mess

Oxfam have been used as a scapegoat here they are as you say the catalyst for corroding public confidence further in charities particularly foreign aid charities.

Of course there needs to be extensive reform no doubt, it's also damning that these stories are not isolated to one organisation, any measures implemented need to be sector wide.

The Charity Commission's report found it "had a culture of tolerating poor behaviour and... failed to meet promises made on safeguarding, ultimately letting everyone down".

....it’s so very sad because these terrible incidents that shouldn’t ever happen with correct safeguarding measures in place have and will inevitably deter people from donating and supporting ...not just this charity but charities in general, people will become sceptic and wary etc...and that’s understandable also...ultimately, the people it damages and harms are the people who so desperately need these charities to be supported, their help is vital to so many...

i have been wary of charities for years. There are just too many scams going on. It requires very careful research to see how hard earned money is actually used

...yeah, I do understand, bots...I think so many people are sceptical, sadly...I’ve always been in a privileged position of knowing of specific projects through involvement of people I know or have spoken to and looking into how those projects can be supported directly...in general, that’s the better way for help to go directly, rather than cash donations...

This is why I never donate to any charity. Corrupt businesses in disguise

This is not a shock to me, think I have posted this before but when my grandad passed away my Nana was bored so started to vaulenteer at the local Oxfam to her and the woman who ran the small shop was a bitch, she treated people working for free like crap, she literally said to my Nana that most working their were pathetic 'dolies' who only do the work to keep their benefits and my Nana and another lady saw her marking items down in price for herself, a designer YSL scarf that they could have sold for a lot more.

The other lady reported her and those above didn't care, nothing was done and my Nana and the lady who reported her quit and the other working did a collection to buy them a card and some flowers and the bitch refused to even sign either card.

Handing out dodgy, unearned contracts is fine for this government, but anyone else doing dodgy stuff will not be tolerated.
