Default Late Arrivals mid-series

What do you think of housemates arriving mid-series?

We have had it every year now but every year it seems to be getting more and more extreme with a total of 8 new housemates entering last year. Do you think its and advantage or disadvantage coming in so late into a series?

Also, it used to be the case of a new housemate would be nominated and evicted a.s.a.p, but now we have late arrivals like Kinga, Eugene, Jennie & Aisleyne all making it to the final. Do you think a late arrival can ever win BB?

I personally think the producers go over the top with adding new people into the house now, it's nice to see a few new faces especially if the house needs spicing up a little but alot of the time there is really no need to add people all the time. I don't think it's a disadvantage coming in late, if you entertain the public and have something to give to the house then you have a good chance of at least finishing in the top four, don't think there is much chance of winning because of course by then most people have chosen their winner and also others have bigger fanbases.

I think that there is only one reason that new people should be allowed in: walkouts and ejections.

The problem with all those arrivals is, that at the launch night, the producers always give the big characters, therefore it means the new arrivals are sometimes boring and have no chance to win. I hope a late-comer will win this year and without the "Pete" effect (the winner since the beginning of the series)

But, the new housemates rock the show, we need to see something new !

I don't mind new arrivals, as long as there is not too many, 22 was a stupid number last year.

I think Aisleyne proved last year just how great a new arrival can be. She provided MUCH more entertainment than Pete and I don't understand why she wasn't picked to go in on launch night.

I don't mind new arrivals but I think it got VERY OTT last year.

I HATE it!!!! I don't mind if they are replacing a housemate who has walked or been chucked out, but last year was utterly ridiculous with the amount of new housemates.

And what was with the stupid twist - you know, Aisleyne gets evicted, except she doesn't really, she just goes into another house with 5 new housemates, who get evicted one by one, except they don't really, they go into the main house, and then Aisleyne goes into back into the main house.....grrrrr.

the problem with adding new hms half way through a series is that the new guy or gal is too afraid to act themselfs.. therefore you end up with.. say... 7 boring housemates rather than 6

I think they should launch the show with only 8 housemates. Then add housemates over the firs two weeks to bring it up to 16. When there are 16 housemates at launch I can never keep up with who's who. I think to launch with 8 then we can get to know some of the housemates before more are added. Just a thought.

I have nothing against late arrivals and personally I can't see why they can't win. Anyone in there has a chance after all.

I sort of agree. I am forever saying "what's her name again"? "Who's that"? etc. It all gets a bit too confusing at first.
