Good to know that it takes them about 8 years to listen to the concerns of the people they work for.

I never knew why they changed cotton buds to plastic sticks ? the cardboard ones were perfectly adequate.

Only problem for straws is as pointed out by Matthew Wright this morning is that some people with disabilities do need a straw and a paper one would be no good in a pint of beer! I'm sure with some thought a solution can be found for these people.

They make fatter ones, but because I can't see the surface on the inside, I get a bit paranoid. I have to use a pipe cleaner-ish tool to get it clean (and those are hard to find here)

Bit tricky if you are in a wheelchair , keep it in your top pocket and your liable to poke your own eye out whilst turning your wheels ! An new invention needed here.

Rubberized/siliconish straws can be bent and stored. That's what I use at home. There's literally no chance of those poking anyone's eye out as they're a soft flexible material...

They even come in fun colors, such as red, blue, pink...

Besides, there are people who carry the whole dining room with them in their purse everywhere they go. Some of us freaks carry our own packets of sweetener because we prefer healthier options, etc...
