Default Exterminate! Freema axed

Quote:
DOCTOR Who actress Freema Agyeman has been axed from the next series, The Sun can reveal.

Pretty Freema, 27, only joined the BBC1 sci-fi hit as the Timelord’s new companion Martha Jones at the beginning of the current series three.

We told how the struggling actress scooped the role after Billie Piper quit. But show chiefs think her performance is not as strong as in her earlier episodes.

And they are planning a storyline where the Doctor, played by David Tennant, will lose her and travel through the universe searching for her.
The decision to dump Freema comes as a bolt from the blue after her performance for the first couple of episodes was praised.

A source said: “Freema is very talented but we don’t think she is just right on Doctor Who. None of this is being done with any malice. Freema’s a lovely girl.”

Freema has previously admitted that she had a tough job to fill Billie’s boots. Billie, who played Rose Tyler, left at the end of the second series.

Christopher Eccleston stunned the BBC by quitting as the Timelord after the first series of the revamped drama in 2005.

Meanwhile current star Tennant is still believed to be making just part of series four, which starts filming in Wales this summer.

A spokeswoman for the show refused to comment.

I liked her. But maybe this is Jennie's (BB7) time to shine. Didn't she audition for a role in Doctor Who? Jennie would make a great replacement.

I like her too

Why do they do this???

We get used to people and then they just disappear and do something else. So when David Tennant leaves, we will have a new doctor & a new assistant.

Oh well, we still have the Daleks.

Remember, one got away & that Dalek will create more Daleks. I just know these things

I think theyve done this for a reason, i think theyve found someone better already, they wouldnt axe her for the fun of it. Maybe Rose might return * crosses fingers *

This is the reason I dont like Doctor Who.
When you get attatched to someone, they axe them!

I just doubt this is true...
She was on Jonathan Ross last night... and there was no mention of her being axed she even said she is starting to film for series 4 in the summer...

She actually said "they" start filming this summer.

But don't forget people, this story was printed in the Sun, no other newspaper or media group have said or printed anything of the sorts and therefore this is still only a rumour until if/when the BBC confirm it.

As Clom said, it's The Sun. I wouldn't worry until BBC actually confirm this. or Freema herself.

I would rather her go than end up as just another of the Dr's shag pieces, whats wrong with having a male assistant in the tardis. Im fed up of her making out like she has fallen in love with the Doc already, Seems like Russell T Davis is prepared to use every hollywood cliche in the book to make Dr Who appeal to the American market so the Dr has to have a sycophantic dewy eyed starlet hanging onto his heels.
Nowadays the Dr is as one dimensional as Captain James Tiberious Kirk.
