Natasha Kaplinsky's eight-year-old daughter, Angelica, has suffered 'severe burns' after their boat exploded into a 'fireball' during a family holiday.
The 45-year-old newsreader, her youngest child and another relative are believed to have been 'rescued' by a fisherman who then helped to extinguish the fire in Corfu during the horrific blaze. Since the explosion, it has been claimed that Angelica has been flown from Greece back to the UK for medical treatment, her condition is not life threatening, as investigators currently look into the petrol leak aboard the boat. A port source told The Sun: 'The girl suffered serious burns. Ms Kaplinsky and a man, thought to be the girl’s granddad, suffered lighter wounds. 'At first the girl was rushed to hospital in Corfu Town with burns to her face and hands. 'Her mother and grandfather were treated at a private clinic. It was then decided to fly them home.' It is believed that Natasha's husband, Justin Bower, 45, and son Arlo, nine, as well as two other relatives, were also aboard the Plumbago Go - with the incident last Friday causing around £350 worth of damage. Corfu Port Authority told the publication: 'Three people were injured after a fire on a boat. The vessel suffered a mechanical failure which caused a fire in the engine room, which was immediately extinguished by the people on the boat.' While Natasha's spokesperson added: 'Natasha and her family were involved in an accident in Corfu. 'They came home early to receive treatment and are making a good recovery at home.' MailOnline has contacted her spokesperson for further comment. Natasha has had a successful career as a newsreader, appearing on Sky News, BBC News, Channel 5 and ITV News. She owns a five-bed mansion on the island called Plumbago — like the boat. While she also won the first ever series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2004 with dance partner Brendan Cole, who has since been 'axed' from the show. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...on-Greece.html
