Can you clarify in words of your choice why curling is not taken seriously as a sport?

I noted, on a recent episode of Kevin Hart's TKO that one of the dudes from American's gold medal winning curling team was matched against a hot-dog eating champion, a beer-pong expert, and a Harry Potter games enthusiast.

I was horrified.

If they prepared the ice properly before the game we could do away with the staff cleaning the ice as the stone is in progress. Every game you see them hastily cleaning the ice surface as the stone progresses and with some prior preparation this could be avoided

I like the sport when I'm watching the Winter Olympics.

Sadly a lot of the time I don't seem to catch Curling matches on the channels.

Obviously none of you are Canadian... Curlers are basically rockstars here... I swear it. It's on the major sports networks constantly. I came home today and watched the Evil Jennifer Jones get beaten and it was a highlight for me.

Also... curlers have gotten fit as **** over the last decade.
