Indeed; the vast majority of current University students are not Millenials.
So... there's that. |

I mean, I just went back and tried to count the posts 'whinging' about the 'whinging' and I could count at most ten (think I may have slipped in some posts in which people who thinks it's a good idea to be inclusive). And given the fact that that my post was post #70 (fun fact: half of 70 is 35, not 10), even if we discount those people 'whinging about whinging', there would still be around 60 posts, which is three pages assuming you have the settings set so threads display 25 posts per page as I do )

They’ve taken this from the American SJW’s.
I saw that jazz hands thing a couple of years ago on a YT vid at some American uni. I didn’t think Brits would be mental enough to ever copy it. It’s just ridiculous isn’t it.Treating young adults like kids,Infact even my 3y/o’s nursery lets them clap. I thought uni was supposed to prepare people to enter the real world with emotive topics, uncomfortable debates and challenging opinions. Not shelter them from clapping ffs. People in real life don’t generally moderate their behaviour so as not to upset your sensitivities.Uni’s should’nt be shielding people from life. |

I was born in May 1980. I'm apparently seven months too old to be a millennial. Do you know why I didn't know that? Because it doesn't matter. Young people have always looked on the older generation as dinosaurs, and the older generation have looked at young people as pretty dumb. Probably because you have less experience when you're young. But where's the cut off point? I mean, there are people on this thread bemoaning the "older generation" who are clearly hurtling towards being that very thing. No one's young forever, the lucky among us grow up and grow older. In twenty years I guarantee there will be a whole new batch of young people believing the older generation ruined the world and that their generation is special. For clarity, I responded to a thread that had 'millennial' in the title. I don't use the term in everyday life and I don't think I've used it on the forum before so it's strange that you would single me out in this way, but thanks for the rather pointed explanation of all the meaningless labels no one really uses in real life, I'm sure someone may have found it helpful. |
