We watched the last two last night... in true Halloween fashion. Absolute Quality show overall... I could kind of predict the ending based on the set up, and I felt the way they tied up all the loose ends in the last episode has some weak story moments to it... but honestly the best of the haunting and horror genre I've seen/appreciated in probably my lifetime.

great pace, well-developed characters, proper old fashioned scares and a good yarn

The scene in episode 8 with Theo and Shirley in the car gave me heart palpitations.

I've been watching this, I'm a few episodes in, just watched
Spoiler: I'm hooked, can be confusing at times with all the time travelling but it's seriously gripping! The DOZENS of ghosts just watching in the background in scenes that just now and then catch you eye is such a clever touch, really unsettling. Last edited by LaLaLand; 01-11-2018 at 11:56 PM. |

Tonight me and my mate were watching and it was just me and her in the house with her little baby asleep in her chair next to the sofas, suddenly (during a really tense scene where we were waiting for a scare) her cat, who I'd forgotten about completely, started trying to open the door next to me from the other side, outside of the room, so the handle was going up and down like crazy on its own!!
Swear to God I nearly keeled over, proper "ugly screamed" Last edited by LaLaLand; 02-11-2018 at 12:01 AM. |

Jessica Meuse was robbed.

The best show that I've seen from Netflix tbh.
Shirley's character in the present would've been the only major issue that I had with the programme, as even the pacing was near on perfect for the type of story that the writers were telling.

I do love that, basically, The Red Room was the "Room of Requirement" from Harry Potter .

Lol... this is the first thing my kid said... but I don't think people require horror in their lives

I watched the final episode earlier, it wasn't what I expected tbh. I thought it would be basically the Crains running from ghosts for an hour but I like what they did instead.
I found it quite emotional tbh, Nell's confetti speech really got to me. |

I loved how the entire series also works even without any supernatural element as a story about mental illness and its effects on a family.
Olivia's anxieties about the world leading her to the conclusion that death was the better option, not always subtle but superbly played. The Red Room literally luring the characters to spend time alone, loneliness exacerbating those anxieties and increasing them, "digesting" them. The less time they all spent together, the worse everything got. Ugh. Loved it. Last edited by Marsh.; 02-11-2018 at 11:54 PM. |

Eh I’m not as big of a fan of the ending. The juxtaposition of this soppy ending against the horror theme of the series overall and it ending with the dad dying didn’t really work for me
Also I’m annoyed they left the bit after the demon dog in the kitchen open and the same with Nellie ending up in a different dimension for a couple of hours and then not caring

Just a minor thing but the actress who played Simon's wife did such a good job of imitating Poppy in that last episode when Steve's dreaming.
