I was going through a bunch of youtube videos, until I came across this video where Courtney Act is being interviewed, and promoting this new LGBT dating show they are hosting called "The Bi Life".
As a gay black single man myself, and a fan of reality tv, I always like it when I can find more stuff to relate to on television. But after looking at this interview, I'm so appalled right now. It's a show (which I don't intend to watch lol) about a bunch of plastic looking bisexual men and women living in a house, who can either decide to pursue a relationship with a cast member of the same or opposite gender of themselves. It's very lighthearted and drama free, and friendly from what I gathered. Courtney Act was then asked by the interviewer, would an LGBT/Gay version of "Love Island" or "Are You The One" etc. work. They then said that it would be "damaging". They said that when people see a bunch of straight people on a reality show competition for love and full of drama, nobody says anything. However if you have a bunch of LGBT or Gay people acting wild and competing for love, it's not a good sign and won't be received well, and gives further reason for people who hate LGBT people to feel justified I guess? When that's complete crap. I don't watch "Love Island" or "Are You The One", but I would totally watch it if they had an LGBT season. I do understand their point somewhat, but it's a reality show, so what do you expect? People are going to have their opinions regardless. I'm not saying it's not a valid point and argument that when you have a minority group such as LGBT, if they are acting up, it possibly might give off a bad representation to an already marginalized group, but the fact it's coming from Courtney Act of all people. Wow lol. Courtney Act came from a LGBT reality show full of drama and cattiness and evil wickedness. Drag Race, (which I quit watching), so what a hypocrite. I'd rather watch a LGBT "Love Island" or "Are You The One" with real people, and no holds barred, naked to the world, than this cookie cutter crap show Courtney Act is trying to promote. I just wanted to talk about this and see how hypocrisy works and such. Here is the interview BTW.

POW! BLAM!

I don't think it would be damaging - what's gonna happen, would the government see the degeneracy and make being LGBT a crime? That said, it would definitely be embarrassing and cringey.
