I still love HMV. Love browsing. I still buy vinyl and blu ray. Gutting news and hope they can get out of it again.

I used to love going into HMV and browsing, you'd often come out with a film or box set that you didn't know you wanted.

It's kinda sad how streaming sites have taken over and everything is done with the click of a button now, there was something enjoyable about owning a physical copy and although I don't buy many any more, I still have my DVDs from like ten years ago.

My local HMV closed in 2011 though and now the closest one is in Oxford Street (which I'm not sure is still even open) so I get any DVDs and Blu-rays from Amazon or Zavvi now.

Yeah, although it's just as easy for me to buy CD's and Vinyls from online - there's something still quite special about looking through the shop to find what you want, and buying it.

Yes they are but at the same time people are buying alot of stuff online, if there's a dvd that HMV doesn't have then you can shop online for it .

Great store but they are in drastic need of bringing up to date; their website and online services are frankly stuck in 2004.

Amazon, Netflix and Spotify offer a better service at a better price.

This isn't a failure of capitalism, but rather capitalism working perfectly.

I love HMV, I use Netflix religiously but I do love owning physical copies of films.

Same, I've never seen our local one empty. I suspect there's a mismanaging of funds afoot if our experiences are commonplace since if all the shops are that busy then there should be profits.

[The Sports Direct tycoon Mike Ashley is in talks to snap up another chunk of Britain's struggling high streets
by tabling a bid to rescue HMV from administration]

[He is understood to believe that music and
other entertainment products could be a valuable
addition to parts of his high street empire, including Sports Direct.]

As much as everyone hates this rich fella
he maybe their only chance to keep
some stores open.

[HMV sold to Canada's Sunrise Records
Enterpreneur Doug Putman has pipped retail tycoon Mike Ashley to the purchase of the collapsed music retailer.]

[HMV has been bought out of
administration by Canada's Sunrise Records
in a deal which will save 100 stores
but result in 27 closing.]

Thats Good news
