Has anyone noticed that it's only people who voted remain who want another referendum?
We need to just leave. All the scaremongering about how we'll... how did Greg put it, in his usual anti-English way... oh yeah, leave us to rot (as if it's just England leaving...). All the foreign exporters will be panicking, wondering who is going to buy their sh1t now? Who will be the first to do a deal with us? Germany, because 1 in every 7 German cars manufactured is sold in the UK? Maybe France? Renault, Pergeot, Champagne, all that cheese the EU can form into a cheese mountain... And I just have to say, we've been treated appallingly by the EU, desperate not to give any other country hope of leaving. |

Come to an agreement that a majority of MPs will support. It only needs to be above 50% - no need for a consensus or anything approaching.
Election won't change anything unless both main parties change their Brexit position, unless the (unlikely) outcome happened of one party getting a big majority then they could probably force through any deal. 2nd Ref would likely be another knife-edge vote (unless leave voters are disillusioned and don't bother to vote) so divisive. The MPs supporting it have convinced themselves it will be a remain result this time, and everything will be okay, but there is a high chance it won't work out like that. No to Scottish independence. That would be adding more chaos to chaos. |

I think they should hold a series of votes on possible different outcomes - Norway model, Canada+ or whatever, EEA membership, No Deal - and see what has most support. Hold the votes twice if need be including an amended May deal until parliament realises they need to back something and there's a majority |

It might actually be a good thing that May went through with this vote even knowing she would be defeated, because it makes the possibility of no deal a very real scenario.
The margin of defeat tells the EU that the last deal was a definite non starter. The EU don’t want us to leave but they really don’t want no deal. This may bring them back to the table. Last edited by Northern Monkey; 16-01-2019 at 12:41 PM. |

This is terrifying. Almost enough to make me not want a 2nd referendum.
