Default The BBC and Discovery confirmed plans for a break-up of UKTV chls/ BBC TV TAX UP £4

So DaveHD and GoldHD are now totally owned
by BBC Studios.

USA Discovery no longer the Co-Cowner.

[The BBC and Discovery have confirmed plans for a break-up of UKTV channels, and
unveiled what BBC director general Tony Hall has described
as the corporation’s “largest ever content sales deal” as part of a new SVOD offering.
Discovery is to take full control of lifestyle channels including Good Food, Home and Really,
while BBC Studios will take the remaining seven channels, including Alibi, Dave,
Drama, Eden, Gold, Yesterday and W, alongside digital player UKTV Play and the UKTV brand.

The channels join Discovery’s existing portfolio of 16 channels in the UK, including Discovery Channel,
TLC, ID, Animal Planet, Eurosport, Quest and Quest Red and the Quest OD video-on-demand service.
Following completion, James Gibbons, EVP and GM for the UK/IRL/ANZ and
commercial development for Discovery EMEA, will manage the lifestyle channels
as part of Discovery’s UK portfolio.]

Yes it should have been there's
But I assume as they show so many
BBC Nature repeats
USA Discovery sold it to them.

All the Commercials
make money for BBC Studios
that filter through to BBC UK

But Today the BBC UK TV TAX has fecking gone UP £4

[This is how much it has gone up by so far:

April 2017 - £147 (up £1.50)
April 2018 - £150.50 (up £3.50)
April 2019 - £154.50 (up £4) ]

https://www.thesun.co.uk/money/83311...-bbc-confirms/

[The BBC is already threatening to take away free licences
for millions of pensioners as it considers increasing the age threshold for eligibility.

One report even warned that scrapping the fee
could push 50,000 elderly bills payers into poverty.

Shocking,
I can't even imagine a TV Tax here in Australia.

Once upon a Time I asked the BBC if I could use an ol' Doctor Who Bit on the Radio, The Start of Tom Baker's Run; they wanted minimum $800
