..it’s a big question Twosugars...it’s not one I can easily answer tbh...I believe in the fragility of life..I believe in its delicacy and in things that are beyond our control which can change life in a split second...I don’t believe that we humans have the right to extinguish life purposefully ...either human or animal...

...no I don’t believe it’s sacred...if it were sacred then it wouldn’t be human imo...it can’t be both as they are contradictions of each other ..is my thought...

I think you've confused the question a bit 2S with the terminology as "sanctity" and "sacred" by their definition refer specifically to being "of religious significance". I took the question to mean, essentially, do I think human life holds significance to the extent that it should be preserved above other considerations which I generally do -- although I am also an advocate of euthanasia which would be AGAINST the religious idea of life being (truly) sacred.

yeah, but we do use sacred and sanctity in non-religious context too, c'mon Soldier Toy

and why would I use it in religious context?

We do and I took it that way but it seems that other people haven't and it's messing up the results .

Hard question to answer yes or no, so I guess I'm going to have to go with no. There are some people in this world that just don't deserve to live.

...it’s still a difficult question though...sorry I’m not being difficult and evasive, TS...but not every human life will have the same value to every human...?..in the recent story for instance that sparked your thoughts...?....the loss of life of that hunter/poacher appears to have held very little value to some... I mean how could it...there is no emotional attachment to him and what he was doing when he was killed abhorred some people...?..do where was the value placed on him by some, there just wasn’t any...but he had daughters...he had a family and friends and loved ones in his life who would have placed an entirely different value on him...if human lives have value that is above all else...?...then they have that value by those who place the value on them...it’s an entirely personal thing...

No.
Not everyone deserves to live, or even wants to live.

Some really strong posts on this here.
Really interesting to read and take on board.

My first line in my post above said yes it is.
However I qualified that with all life was in my view.

So on the poll, which only asks the Human life.
I had to vote no.
On a poll for all life,I'd vote yes.

No, not at all.
I am saying that some people don’t want to carry on living, and should have the right to die, with or without help.
All down to choice.
I don’t particularly think of life as sacred.
