it will need someone with pretty deep pockets to take it on and as a club it just doesn't have the flair to attract many investors with deep pockets. It really needs to be someone local which narrows the options a lot. I think the 4 interested party's will mostly disappear .... but who knows

It's a shame Neville brother's can't help....their Dad was a big supporter and previous Director of Bury and saved it last time it was in trouble but I think their ownership of Salford would stop them.

I dont know how such a small club can get so deep into debt? Like you could kinda understand the Bolton over spending but when you are a club with a small fanbase and not bringing much money in you should be spending within you means not overspending.

I am sure I read somewhere that the owner has had links to 20 odd businesses that went into liquidation which is worrying to start with.

I honestly don't see Bury staying in the football league regardless of what happens but they should try and not dissolve the team

if they get kicked out of the football league, it will be a huge blow of the credibility of that competition

and also not even wanting to invest in a football team this old, loads of club history, to the lots of loyal supporters it feels disrespectful

where fake teams with the Dubai people continue to stay top level and cheat themselves to championship titles

Bury owner Steve Dale is asking members of the public to pledge money as the League One club bids to avoid expulsion from the English Football League.

The Shakers must provide evidence to the EFL that they can pay off creditors and have the funding needed to survive the season by 23:59 BST on Friday.

The 134-year-old side have had their first six 2019-20 fixtures suspended.

The EFL says it is "working tirelessly to achieve a solution" and has not ruled out a short extension.

"We've gone to the public and we've said: 'If you want to save a football club, make a pledge to the club - not me,'" Dale told BBC Radio Manchester.

"Once we're up to the amount the EFL says we need with projections, we can go back to them and say it's nothing to do with me, there's Ł2m, Ł3m, whatever it is, from genuine people who'll pledge to the club."

It’s being reported that a sale of the club has been agreed. Apparently Alastair Campbell’s son is buying the club?

Seeing as he is a poker player I'm not sure they will allow it to go through with the strict gambling rules?

I think it would’ve just depended more on whether he can prove he has sufficient funds to take the club over (which according to the link he has done so already) and clear some of the debt?

That's great news if the EFL approves the deal.

Let's hope not.

The bank holiday coming up could hold things up though which I'm concerned about.

I know that the Manchester clubs have allowed the Bury players to train at their facilities.

But I do agree with you that it would be good PR if the Premier League teams helped out Bolton and Bury.

Couldn't the Premier League teams “loan” them some money?
