Default 70 stand alone Argos stores to close they will merge into Sainsburys

https://news.sky.com/story/sainsbury...costs-11818979

Also Sainsburys are closing some big stores
but also opening New Ones with Argos within them.

Sainsburys who bought Argos
can no longer afford their stand alone stores.
Their stock levels are no longer like they were.

Hasn't this already happened? All of the Argoses near me have been inside Sainsburys stores for years.

We still have a few standalone Argoses down here.

I know the face of retail has changed more in the past 20 years than any time over history, but it's still surprising and sad to see pretty much every staple of my childhood completely disappear. Woolworths, Blockbuster, Argos and HMV were pretty much where all my pocket money went.

Only need WHSmiths to disappear now and it's over (I know HMV still exist but shush)

They are in Debt, now
so their future could change, sadly

I would add HMV's into WHSmiths
so LP's and CD's and Blurays
in a merged shop sub section.

Yes, a merger is a good idea
