....’turkeys voting for Christmas’ is a widely known and acknowledged philosophy...I’m just looking at the wiki page on it...in the USA, it’s ‘turkeys voting for thanksgiving’, which is used for the philosophy...or ‘chickens voting for Colonel Sanders’...Germany apparently has...’Only the most stupid calves would vote for their butchers’....

It is, of course, palpable nonsense to suggest that Boris Johnson’s government is further to
the right that its recent predecessors, and even more ridiculous to claim it’s more
Thatcherite than Thatcher. This all hails from the “Everyone I disagree with is Hitler” school
of Leftist thought.

So...a phrase in common parlance to describe voters voting against their own interests is bad, but the strawmanning of the left is good?

Since the election, Johnson has gone back on his pledge to protect workers rights in his deal, he's now put conditions on his hourly wage pledge, rips up his pledge to protect migrant children, is being promoted by the far right, he's about to redistrict voting areas to make sure the tories remain in power. All perfectly normal though.

Johnson won and won by a barrelload - people like him and what he is doing, you dont like him and will try to find anything possible to be negative, at some point slim you have to accept your views are not popular and people dont agree with your worldview

and move on

I don't disagree with most of that, but the fact people like what he's doing says absolutely nothing about whether it will help their lives, and I'm not trying to find anything to be negative about, he's doing these things out in the open.

I've moved on, I said the day after the election how badly I misjudged the public. Again, that says nothing about the reality of what Johnson is doing.

Finally, telling everyone to act like a serf and subjugate themselves at the feet of Boris seems like the antithesis of what I would expect from a political tough talker like your good self..

You're strangely offended given that you say you voted for SNP. Why would a phrase aimed at Tory voters upset you so much when your party of choice literally has gotten where it's gotten to by opposing the tories?

Doesn't make much sense.

Also pearl clutching never works out for you, I don't know why you keep defaulting back to it when it's easy enough to drum up posts where you describe a child with asperger's as disturbed and worse besides.

Thank you to poster Jet
who posted the the link on my Corbyn thread.
Again...that was 1 man. There are 1000s of Britain first members obviously not as high profile who have been instructed to join the conservatives. Read the articles posted by myself and slim again.
Please don't be railroaded by misinformation arista.

no there are 800 members and the number who actually do try and become tory members will be a fraction of that

the 2 words that would be ideal here are totally inconsequential

They sure did..which is why the labour party got the biggest kick in its balls it's ever had..yet there he is, the cause of it all...still clinging onto the tiniest slither of power he has, which was the only thing that mattered to him.

But we saw through that as well and sent him on his way..now do the decent thing Jeremy and **** of to the backbench where you belong, plotting against your own party.

Which part of the article said Britain First have "thousands" of members?

I hope someone didn't let herself be railroaded by misinformation.

Instructed or not, whether or not they manage to join anonymously as not being BF members, they are not welcome.

The article I posted clearly states:

.....membership applicants receive an automatic confirmation ahead of a fuller vetting process.....members of Britain First and the individual you cite would certainly not be welcome in the Conservative Party."

Is that clear enough for you...

Maybe it's just Britain first members changing thier minds like a large percentage of the labour party did in the voting...

And then papers jazzing it up for the chickens that would vote for not being part of a joke.

It's not a good post, it's a very skewed post that doesn't examine any reasoning why that corellation has been drawn at all.

Could it not be classes as 'palpable nonsense' that there is a leftist school of thought that believes that everyone who disagrees with them is Hitler? :/

This is a very hipocritical post that attempt to pass wild accusations off as debate.
