Default jury service summons letter was 6/1/20 now postponed till 20/7/20


I don't want to do it has anyone done this what it like


Someone going down for this

Is it right but there can make people do this

You can claim some circumstances but they want proof, e.g. my dad got out of it a few years ago because he had planned a month-long trip to Canada to visit family... but IIRC he had to actually send them proof of the flights / accomodation AND prove that it was booked before he got the summons.

That said being summoned doesn't mean you'll end up a juror, most are dismissed before the trial.

And if you do end up on a jury it's usually something **** and straightforward like drugs / theft. Hardly anyone gets to be on the jury of a "juicy" trial
