..in honour of the truth and all of our wonderful guys.....
International Men’s Day is celebrated worldwide on 19 November to shine a spotlight on positive male role models and the issues facing men today. Poor mental health and high suicide rates among men is a key focus of the awareness day. Despite male suicide having dropped to its lowest rate in 30 years in the UK, it remains the biggest killer of men under the age of 45, according to charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). International Men’s Day aims to highlight the problem of toxic masculinity and other cultural barriers which may prevent men from seeking help for their mental health when they feel they need it. |

I don't agree that the suicide rate has dropped.. only yesterday a I was reading about an exponential increase in ex offenders committing suicide then theres the stats the dwp tried to hide. I'd say male suicide is becoming endemic.

About time men were recognised as a valuable species. Matriarchal propaganda has been vicious and rampant to keep men down in society. Just need a straight pride to go with it, and finally we can be recognised as equals

...you might be right there, Kizzy...
The rate of suicides in Britain has risen sharply to its highest level since 2002, with men accounting for three-quarters of the number of people who took their own lives last year, official figures show. A total of 6,507 suicides were registered by coroners in the UK – 11.2 per 100,000 people – in 2018, up 11.8% on the previous year, according to the Office for National Statistics. Particular concerns were raised over an increase in the rates of young people aged from 10 to 24 killing themselves, with the overall rate for that age group reaching a 19-year high and the rate for young females reaching an all-time high. ...full article... https://www.theguardian.com/society/...vel-since-2002 |
