She's definitely better than Ryan, but not as good as Graham.

They all pale in comparison to Bill or Amy or Donna <3

I dont trust them at all. Who knows who can hear on the other side for it to help follow commands. Who knows who can hack into them. Also for people to say its best to keep them out of a room that your having a private conversation in is fishy

Even things like cameras on your door so you know who comes and gos, well maybe others can see that footage and know when you leave and when you go....

Even our phones are able to spy on us, they have cameras, they store our data of our interests etc etc

Anyone else had a conversation with somebody about an object perhaps and an advert can come up on your phone about it not long after? I have. Its not a coincidence!

Eh, if someone's idea of a high afternoon is listening to me talking to the hound, I wish them luck and suggest they get a life.

The long ep titles recently get on my nerves, not sure why! Like for ep 4 shortening it to ‘Night of Terror’ would make it sound way better. Idk!

I love 'O'. He's going to be a great Master I think. He's got the right level of madness about him. It totally makes sense that he's turned evil again if whatever the Timeless Child thing is has 'betrayed' him so much, in fact, thinking about it, even Missy would probably have done that. I am SO perched for the rest of the series and it feels great to be saying that again.

I like the way O's "panto villain" aspects seem like a bit of a deliberate act. When he's not talking to Doc, he's more quiet and menacing, but amps it up when she's there.

An example is in the airplane in ep 1. He was hamming it up until he sat in the chair, and when he was out of Doc's line of sight he was more deadpan.

The Master has always (and by always I mean New Who dunno about classic) been a showman/woman. They love the attention.

I decided to bite the bullet and watch the second part yesterday, it was better than the first but I'm not sold on the writing for the Master, the actor seems capable enough (lacks of bit of gravitas perhaps?) but the writing for him is a bit too moustache-twirly. Chibnall's take on the Master lacks the nuance that the other recent versions have had. The Doctor and The Master should be like Xavier and Magneto in that they are old friends who are enemies by circumstance and I didn't really get that with this episode.

I like that there is an arc to this series already although they've retconned so much about Gallifrey over the years that it's diffcult to care that it's been destroyed when you know they'll end up bringing it back a few years down the line anyway.

I think I'll just pick up this series when I can be bothered, I don't think I can follow it as closely as I did the other seasons.

Yeah, the actor is good but I can't get excited about The Master/Gallifrey destroyed when we literally just had a major Master arc with Moffat's last series. The Master was a massive part of Tennant's era and we've done the Gallifrey is destroyed/Gallifrey is saved just a couple of years ago.

I'm all for bringing more familiar aspects of Doctor Who back but does it have to be the most overused ones?

I think the reaction to the last season has left Chibnall panicked I think, nothing he tried to do really worked and so he's trying to throw in everything familiar to try to claw people back. It's a real shame because his poor efforts will lead people to thinking that the problem with Chibnall's tenure was the 'wokeness' and not the piss poor writing.

I miss Moffat and his space soap opera ass. The opening two episodes were terrible if you ask me and somehow a worse start than last season. This show has really plummeted in quality and I hate to see it.

Also, why was Stephen Fry so wasted?

Were they going for a "the biggest star dies in the first half" shocker?

I miss the days where every ep of the series was a different, unrelated story and you didn't have to watch series 8 episode 12 part 1 to understand what's going on in series 10 episode 7 part 2 or whatever. As an audience you should be able to jump in and out of a series as and when you please without needing to know loads of prior knowledge. It makes it almost impossible for the show to attract new viewers unless they rewatch all the first 10 seasons or something.

Tbf, Chibnall can't do that either, look at series 11.

Yeah ole Chibbers ain't doing great... The first two episodes are miles better than anything from S11, but they're still not as good as RTD or Moff...

His biggest problem is the dialogue, it just doesn't flow well, you end up with Jodie talking to herself for like 3 minutes explaining the plot.

It was literally like that with S11 but still didn’t work.

Yep, I'm glad we FINALLY got references to Gallifrey, Daleks and The Master and that the Doctor finally said the name of her own race. S11 at times didn't feel like Doctor Who, because there was nothing familiar aside from the TARDIS.

Well I actually liked S11 for that very reason I pretty much gave up halfway into the Smith era, and it was only in S10 again when I was able to rejoin watching, but even then there were various plotlines I had no clue what they were in relation to. I think overlapping stories should just stick to season-long plots rather than spanning across like 4 seasons honestly.
