While there's still a debate surrounding the UK version of Strictly Come Dancing and whether or not it will ever feature a same-sex pairing taking part in the competition, the show's equivalent in Denmark has featured such a duo... and they've only gone and won the whole thing!

Openly gay actor Jakob Fauerby took part in Vild med Dans alongside professional dancer Silas Holst, and after weeks of well-rated performances, they took the crown.

Writing on his Instagram page after his big win (and brought to you through the magic of Google Translate), he said: "We've won Vild med Dans 2019!

"It's totally crazy and absolutely amazing. Thank you so much to all of you for your wonderful messages and great support over the last 12 weeks. I am so proud that my daughter, her big brother, and all other little boys and girls can go out into the world and love them the way they want and dance with whomever they want."

He added on the social media site: "@silasholst you are the bravest man. Thank you for getting me out into the deepest water. It was worth it."
