I bet she's making sick sick memes about Madeleine McCann without realising that it's herself

If they have nothing to hide they would take a lie detector test. They choose not to, which to me makes it look like they are possibly hiding something.

When it comes to talking about a lost or dead child, the subconscious emotional reactions woukd would make the lie detector unreliable.

Gerry wouldn't know an emotion if it jumped up and kidnapped one of his kids.

Ha! Aren't there some people who lie detectors just don't work for? Like I'm quite emotionally monotone, I never get THAT sad/angry/excited, woukd it react differently to me compared to someone more "normal"?

No idea. I'm not big on polygraph tests. Only seen them used in fiction.

Possibly. In my own mind if I was in this situation being accused I would want to do everything I possibly could to prove I’m innocent. I think there behaviour at the beginning of the investigation was very suspicious and the fact that they refused to answer a lot of questions in the investigation, for me just confirms my suspicions of them even more.

Gerry being told to stick something on the end of it so that they'd never have had a kid to lose?

I just wanted to say that for many years I thought Kate and Gerry were innocent and I was swayed into this theory for a short while after additional reading on the case. However, I do actually believe they are innocent now and unlike some people I think the police may have found their guy!

I agree with this. He was living in the resort, he had a history of being a predatory paedophile, he liked little girls... I am not shocked that this would have come as a surprise to the Portuguese police.

I am surprised this has taken so long to come out considering how "obvious" it now seems in hindsight.

Known the information for years and suddenly NOW they're prosecuting to tie up not just Maddie's but several other missing children's cases?

Convenient.

I think the parents drugged the kids so they wouldn’t wake up and accidentally overdosed madeline which killed her and then they got rid of the body to cover their tracks

I doubt it considering Amaral predicted this man would be arrested over a year ago.

An autopsy on a child who's been missing for 13 years and has still not been found?

I know you said you haven't followed the case closely but surely you know that she is still a missing child so therefore no body = no autopsy
