Default Greggs set to announce nationwide delivery plan after trial success

Quote:
GREGGS is set to launch a nationwide delivery service later this year following the success of its vegan steak bake and sausage roll.

The bakery giant is close to picking a delivery partner after trialling out different food ordering platforms over the last few months.

Since 2017, Greggs has had several stints with Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo to test out food deliveries in cities including Newcastle, London, Birmingham and Glasgow.

In a trading update this week, chief executive Roger Whiteside said the company is almost ready to reveal who it will partner with long-term for a nationwide service.

Mr Whiteside told City AM: “What we have been doing for more than a year is trialling in different places and different partners and we have learned enough to decide that we are interested in rolling out across the country.”

Greggs told The Sun it doesn't have an exact date for when the nationwide delivery will launch, and it also doesn't know how many platforms it will partner with.
