This looks like more of a misunderstanding and the driver ensuring the food was delivered to the correct person, he asked for her phone number so he could verify who he delivered to it at a later point

'Then he asked for my phone number. I was quite confused, I asked if it was for future deliveries or something and he just said, 'No.'

He already had her number, you have to input it on any order, how else are drivers meant to contact you if they can’t find the address or something

But the owner at Heiseiya reiterated that the driver had not been asking for her number, just making sure she included a correct contact number on future orders so they could get in touch with her more easily.

"He saw her and asked if it was her, showing her the receipt, and said she wasn't picking up the phone. He never really asked for her number, he said next time for easier deliveries to put up the correct number on the delivery notes," she said.

He had a number, if she wasn't answering then it wasn't her number was it?
It's her word against the owners who is suggesting that he didn't ask for her number, how that is possible with her not being there I don't know.

It sounds like a misunderstanding to me, a while ago on justeat Tyler ordered and they tried calling him to say they ran out of something and because he had a new number and hadn't updated they had to strike it off the order all together

If the friend just let the delivery guy inside, he'll have had to find her in the house and ask if the food was for her and remind her to add a number just incase they needed to speak to her. I think he did nothing wrong.

So he was getting the correct one I guess, he might not have understood her question, many of these drivers have English as a second language, its clearly a misunderstanding started by her inputting a wrong number or having her phone on silent so she was out of contact, its a student house, thats quite different to walking upstairs in a family home, he was trying to deliver the food and not lose money

The telling thing here is he has worked with the restaurant for years and has never had a complaint before, he made a mistake like we all do from time to time in carrying out our job, he won’t do it again

Walking in through an open door trying to find who ordered the food.

He was told to go in by her friend, was holding a delivery bag. I don't see the issue at all.

Its a shame the guy went in the house really, it's best not to to avoid any accusations. It is silly of her to say she feels spooked because he knows where she lives, if he has worked there years and she's a long standing customer surely he's delivered there before?

yeah he should have stood outside, that said the housemate said to go in, and I suppose if he had other deliveries he couldn't afford to stand around waiting for someone who knew she had ordered something and could track where it was on the app
