It is funny how people like Weinstein get defended for a long time despite several people coming forward with actual stories of abuse.

But a gay man eating in a restaurant with someone younger MUST be abuse of power and something creepy, despite nothing else to suggest it.

Mystery surrounds the sudden departure of Phillip Schofield's former personal assistant and runner after he left This Morning for a rival ITV show.

The male runner, who had a close working relationship with Schofe, quit the show earlier this year and is now working on Loose Women - frequently fronted by Ruth Langsford, who has reportedly lodged an official complaint against Phil.

And while ITV has said the runner was promoted, other staff are said to be confused about the move.

I really don't understand how someone leaving one job for another is "mysterious".

If he'd quit and vanished into thin air then maybe.

But "runner leaves show for another show on itv that is a step higher and more money" is not a story. Runners are literally people wanting to work in the TV industry, at some point they are going to work their way up into other jobs in the industry, writers/producers/actors/presenters etc etc etc. This is not news.

On the surface, I think Schofield deserves respect for coming out publically - it can't have been easy. However, the bits and pieces seem to be coming together, and it's likely that The Sun probably got a whiff of some evidence they could've used to out him. They've given him the option to come out by letting both him and his wife have their say in their paper, and are leaving everything else to people's imaginations.

I did get quite annoyed with my Mum for suggesting that the only reason he would come out now purely because there's a relationship involved. Coming out is difficult and it's obviously not unheard of for people to come out later in life, but it really does feel to random and formal.

Joan Collins has also said on GMB that people already knew, which I guess adds another weird layer to the story. How did it take 27 years for all of this to come out? It's bizarre.
