My local supermarkets are short of many items.
Even meat sections look depleted.
Sweets, cheeses are holding well

Exactly, it doesn't matter if they limit everything to 1 per customer... if every customer in the shop is buying 1, every time they're in.

i ordered up a home delivery from Asda, but it was 6 days before there were any free slots. We have plenty food in, so it's no big deal, but we have never waited anything like that time on an order before

edit, just to add if you need to self-isolate, you let them know in a note when you create your order and they will leave the stuff for you in bags wherever you want it

We got emails last week telling us to put shops through the checkout for the next few weeks, you can change it up to midnight the day before.
It doesn’t get charged until it goes through the actual checkout on the day, same as Easter and xmas, sister has hers book every week for the next 5 weeks.
I have a couple staggered over a few supermarkets

My mum is having to cut kitchen roll in half to use as toilet rolls, it's ridiculous shops haven't been rationing items sooner.

The only way is ration cards if it's a long term problem

Am I the only one who thinks it's rather sensible? It's only frowned upon as it's happened very quick but being prepared is not a bad thing.

What about the people who have to go without because people brought way to much?

There is a difference between being prepared and buying 10 family packs of TR in one hit

I get the anger about the toilet rolls but other than that having a larder of essentials is perfectly acceptable.

There is nothing wrong with the supply chain, more stock is ordered as soon as they sell out.

There's a sensible way of doing it. But all this clearing the shelves of bog roll is not sensible in the slightest.
