Exclamation USA: WHat the Police are still having to deal with (Coronavirus)

Units arriving on scene learned that the group was celebrating a birthday party for a little girl.

The officers advised the partygoers that they had to disperse from the area due to the state order to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Several partygoers became irate prompting officers to request additional assistance.

Eventually officers declared the gathering an unlawful assembly and formed a line to push out the partygoers.

It was unclear if any citations were issued.

Coronavirus: California issues state-wide 'stay at home' order march 20

Governor Gavin Newsom told Californians they should only leave their homes when necessary during the pandemic.

He earlier estimated more than half of the 40 million people in his state would contract Covid-19 in just the next two months.

The virus has claimed 205 lives in the US and infected more than 14,000.

Globally nearly 250,000 patients have tested positive for the respiratory illness and more than 10,000 have died.

California's mandate is the most drastic step taken by a US state to combat Covid-19.

People who just don't get it should be encouraged to socialise. All together in one place.

I mean... don't get on top of any car... I'm not going to defend police aggression but I honestly don't think "OMG I climbed on top of a moving car and it moved!! And I fell off and got HURT wtf???" is a valid statement of any kind.

there are 10,000,000 interactions between Law Enforcement and the general public annually in the USA. The USA is the most weaponized country on the globe.

do the math, as they say in America

yes i know, and also a fact lots of white people in america have licenses for (multiple) guns too

if this wasn't the case, many of these horrible deadly shootings might've been prevented either, don't you think

America has far too many guns, and gives them away to the general public far too easy, and handing out guns to the wrong kind of people, let's say racists that is a fatal mistake

While I don't agree that it being a small percentage of interactions that "go bad" negates the fact that there ARE some horrendously mishandled interactions, I do actually agree on the point about how heavily armed the US population is. I think having a goal of a more empathic, less "jumpy" and trigger-happy police force in the US is a little unrealistic until the firearms issue is tackled to some degree. Police in the US more or less have to assume that people ARE going to be armed... and that when they approach a property there IS going to be a weapon of some description inside, and that has a fairly obvious knock-on effect. Can you really have a heavily armed civilian population and then expect not to end up in a situation where everyone behaves like they're at war with each other?

I saw a police vid the other day. Routine stop cop walks up to car (with a caravan) and indicates to the chap to wind down his window, the guy winds it down and shoots the officer in an instant (he did not die)

The caravan was full of explosives

i mean imagine going into work every day with that being a realistic option?
