No but you'd think so with the amount of people I've seen out and about today (whilst at work) it's felt like a normal day.

But you're a smart man with a head for economics Arista, if you take a step back, I'm sure you know fine well that we can't be on lockdown for 2 years. Not "we don't want to be" - we economically simply can't.

Also... Covid-19 is going to be around forever, I'm baffled as to where the idea that it's going away at all, ever, is coming from. Even with a near-perfect vaccination programme, all three of measles, mumps and rubella still exist in the population at all times. People in the UK have measles, right now. The idea that any measures can be taken that will eliminate Covid-19 completely is a lie but to be fair, I haven't even heard one medical person or govt official suggest that it's going to happen. We're on lockdown to reduce health service strain and to protect the vulnerable until there is a higher level of immunity in the population, and hopefully until they can be vaccinated.

That's it. That's why we're at home. We're not eliminating the virus... That's not what this is or has ever been about... Viruses don't just vanish. People need to get this myth out of their heads tbh.

yes I dont understand why people are not getting it, this lockdown is to delay so the NHS wont be overwhelmed, but it looks likely we are heading for and Italy/Spain type scenario as rules only apply to others and alot think they can carry on as they like

Nope, I don’t think so. People seem to be taking it less seriously now too, which is only going to prolong it.

Given that the death toll is expected to hit 1k per day by Easter Sunday, I doubt the lockdown will be lifted anytime soon

It's not just that Cherie, the isolation rules and lack of testing make the whole thing a farce...

Some people are probably thinking they are already the biggest drain on the NHS and we are pumping all our resources and sacrificing our way of life to protect the biggest drain on the NHS before this.

I guess anyone who don't have elderly relatives will be thinking f this.

It’s the same old story .. the good ones amongst us think about other people and obey the rules and regulations whilst the selfish ( bad ) ones will just do what the hell they want ..

More and more reports of gangs of teenagers on their bikes all over the country.. I predicted this would happen two weeks ago but thought it would have happened sooner tbh ..

We are 2 weeks behind Italy don't expect to be going out till at least September might be longer

This isn't about anyone here but I'm sick of seeing people say they are bored of this now. I'd love to isolate and know my family are safe, but I am working and risking my life. If any of the bored people want to swap go ahead.

People are risking their life’s and losing them like the two nurses that left 3 kids each behind.

And some can’t even stay at home to help, sick people in this world.

What can’t stupid people understand, mixing with people spreads the disease. If you are not mixing you are not spreading the disease.

You are preaching to the converted here. I don't think anyone on Tibb has indicated that they would flout the rules in any way and go out unnecessarily for shopping etc. We are a good bunch. You watch this weekend....the idiots will be out in droves due to good weather.

Tibb's roving reporter may have to risk himself once again to report on the selfish, for the sake of tibb's avid readers.

Not quite sure what elderly age starts at.
But I have made my thoughts known on this situation.
If I catch it I will die at home, with my husband holding my hand.
I have told my daughter, so no comeback on her dad.
The chances of me surviving are minimal and I would much prefer they try and save somebody else with a good life ahead of them.
I dare say I am not alone in thinking this.
