Story of the who wants to be a millionaire cheats Charles and Diana Ingram,

On at 9pm ITV. Tonight

Cant wait for this. I recently watched the documentary that Martin Baskir did so it would all be fresh in my mind again. They'd have got away with it if they'd have stopped at £128k or at £250k. It was those last two questions that buried them.

Quite enjoyed that. A lot of the early stuff seemed like filler at first but I guess it served a purpose in showing how much of an impact the show made and how much of an obsession it caused in people. Is it all true about her brother being on it 4 times? You'd think that would be a very basic thing to check every time they invited guests but I guess it was more of a naive time in terms of what people could do with technology? I didn't think the phone a friends could just be hanging around anywhere/with anyone either, I thought they'd make them be in a room just off the studio or something

For anyone who wants to see the whole thing with the coughs highlighted. The last two questions crack me up. They were really pushing it too far by then

First episode was a bit disappointing. I dont really want to know or care that they had debts.

@ 38 minutes in, you can clearly hear the *cough* *No* . Then when Wittock coughs as Ingram says 'Paris' he clearly abruptly stops. How the hell did they think they'd get away with this

Theres also some nose blowing at around that time possibly a type of 'All stop' signal but not sure what was going on TBH

The writers of this are on record as saying they’ve deliberately produced it in a way which explores the possibility that the Ingram's were innocent, so don’t be surprised if some of the episodes appear to be sympathetic towards them. I actually think that makes it more fun if we’re left to draw our own conclusions. Apparently the stage show (which this is based on) had the audience vote Guilty or Innocent each night

Great opener. Personally really enjoyed the commissioning/piloting part, Millionaire was a phenomenon so it was interesting to see the inner workings of that. My favourite bit was actually all the syndicate stuff though, never knew about any of that

Think i only saw the promo for it today , i'll have to watch it on catch-up .

I remember the scandal like it was yesterday , look how famous he became afterwards appearing on wife swap etc.

The famous *cough * "NO" was beyond pathetic , could they of been any more obvious. He got greedy and went for the million !! .
