Fewer than half of 19 to 30-year-olds are 'strictly' abiding by Britain's lockdown rules, according to a major study.
The poll of 90,000 Britons found people are still sticking to the bulk of the rules but are starting to ignore things like keeping two metres apart. Among all adults, complete compliance has fallen from 70 per cent to under 60 per cent in the last fortnight. While among young adults it has dropped from a high of 60 per cent in mid-April to around 45 per cent by May 17. University College London scientists, behind the survey, also said there had been a drop off in confidence in the Government since it switched its stance from 'stay at home' to the more ambiguous 'stay alert' on May 10. If it is safe to go back to school?
was on tonight's BBC1 HD Question Time. To many keep using one example of a kid that previously had Covid-19 and did not spread it. But no one mentions the other kids that have spread it. Stop giving one example - it is not enough............. Last edited by arista; 22-05-2020 at 02:30 AM. |

Point one Seems unfair to put everything on the shoulders of headmasters... although it would muddy the waters when staff and parents start legal action when they get ill from attending unsafe schools .. Point 2 Nobody really knows enough to comment on who or where would most at risk .. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Despite the phased reopenings, scientists in Germany have said children with the coronavirus may be as infectious as adults, and urged caution.
Researchers who analysed data on infected people found that the viral loads in children differed little from those in adults. Opening schools on the assumption that children are less likely to spread the virus was therefore ill-advised, said Christian Drosten, a virologist and Germany’s leading coronavirus expert, who led the team. Drosten’s study, which was released this week, examined the viral loads in the throats of 3,721 people, including more than 100 children, who tested positive for coronavirus in Berlin between January and April. He said he had been able to carry out his analysis once the number of tests carried out by Labor Berlin, the largest laboratory of its kind in Europe, had reached the critical mass of 60,000 earlier this week. That gave him and his team enough data to be able to carry out an analysis of children who have had the virus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
