tbh ICU's are the more serious cases so if you see that one is flattening down in daily numbers that is good

i think our government should be flexible enough to alter its plans where necessary to do whats best for the country. I don't care if it branded a u turn or whatever. If the spread of the virus means that a broader system becomes appropriate then do it.

There is only one message anyway whatever restrictions are in place .... social distance, hardly difficult to understand

People will still be doing the same old crap, probably going further by saying let’s make this Christmas one to remember apart from all those people that have died from Covid and who’s seat will be empty.

...no the social distance or ‘space’ part of the slogan isn’t difficult to understand...but it can be difficult to maintain and practice in supermarkets for instance...in ours anyway, the space was maintained through restricted number of people in store at one time...?..but now with mask wearing, the restricted number is no longer applied...and in a busy supermarket, maintaining space is becoming more and more difficult...

Something like this must be happening for the rate to be increasing as it is.
This isn't March-April, they know the physical properties of the virus and how it spreads fairly robustly at this point. It isn't secretly airborne.

Also, Scotland's numbers are levelling off whilst England's continue to increase which means, essentially, that the Scottish central belt restrictions had a significant effect on the spread.

I think a lockdown is needed, otherwise the NHS will be overwhelmed.
Unfortunately until they find a vaccine, we will have to have lockdowns to bring numbers down.

Looks like it could change
as Cabinet Meeting today on Saturday
is rare.

Could all be avoided if people actually socially distanced

Double the Fines

Take their licence to trade away - permanently with a huge fine .

Sadly the owners / money men will always find away around things but it would at least make things uncomfortable for them .

That was the theory I was sharing around back in March ... when scientists abroad said the virus particles travelled up to 13’ in the air and could remain airborne for up to 15 minutes...

I know that there is a massive worry about the NHS but it seems like this lockdown is another knee jerk. Surely we will not have seen full results yet of the Tier systems yet. The R rate is dropping again and so surely case numbers will follow suit and anyone who is now infected will end up in hospital whether we are locked down or not. We don't seem to be giving anything a chance to see if its working

If there is a national lockdown then the schools and universities should shut as well.
Perhaps public information adverts on telly showing people that 2 metres is just over the length of a bed rather than the less than 2ft you see all those numpties out in public seem to think it is.

the fixation with keeping schools and universities open when they seem to be directly responsible for the uptick in infections is beyond me
