Oh dear. Will wait to see if it's confirmed but if it is then the gov should be grateful to the Mirror and Observer for getting a second chance to fire him

You aren't a government advisor who oversaw the implementation of the lockdown are you?

tbh I've visited/been visited by family members, but it's always in the garden, and we're always keeping 2m distance.

But none of us have symptoms, so...

Sounds like he is twisting the truth...arrogant twat.
Made me laugh though all the photographers outside of his home scrambling over each other for a shot. The hypocrisy...
However he was wrong to do what he did imo...but many people are flouting the rules including journalists...but they won’t be sacked.
He should have come clean and been more humble instead of being arrogant and defensive.

Well exactly, forget that he is armed with the information he gained sitting in on sage meetings. Ultimately he is just a citizen, surely if you or I were symptomatic and travelled from the capital to the north east and the police ware called there would have been some charges..Why not him?

So even less of a reason for breaking the rules then, glad that’s sorted

Papers across all political spectrums are covering this, not just left wing, Tory mps are even coming out saying he should go now, it’s not a partisan thing, it’s a public trust thing
