Default ‘Here’s to Channel 5 Big Brother - not a flop, but a wacky cult hit’

Channel 4 are repeating the ‘best bits’ of the reality show over lockdown. But missing out episodes from its second incarnation means erasing a beloved, chaotic chapter.

I agree with quite a lot of this tbh, but let’s not pretend c5 didn’t have some DREADFUL series.

It's nice to see a positive article about the show tbh, not a lot of good things have been written about the channel 5 era and their celeb series were far more memorable than the C4 Celeb shows. CBB4 and CBB5 are remembered for very different reasons but other than Jackie Stallone entering, what else did the CBBs of Channel 4 bring us?
The civilians are a very different story however.

In terms of one-off "moments" like David's Dead, the following:

- Vanessa Feltz's rulebreaking/scribble-a-thon breakdown moment
- Tina vs Coolio
- Rula/George's cat roleplay
- Pete/George's bodysuit dance
- GOOD FOR YOU, GOOD FOR YOU seems to still be viral on Twitter but probably not for good reasons

Granted, CBB2 was crap and CBB7 wasn't great, but Channel 4 CBB were certainly better than just the Jackie series.

Still prefer CBB3/4/5 to the majority of the channel 5 CBBs. They may have had more iconic moments, but C4 BB/CBB just felt so raw.

I'm the same, c4 was much more organic
