Default Mulan to be released on Disney+

But you have to pay $30 to watch it

I had a feeling it would go to Disney+ but can't see people paying £30 to see it, that is more than a blu ray

Even the Leicester Square Odeon with Popcorn and Drink wouldn’t set me back that much

I suppose the argument is you pay $/£30 and as many people as you want can watch, at the cinema 4 tickets is >£50

Kinda unfair if you live alone though or have one kid who wants to see it at that price. I understood the movie like The Hunt and Scoob being released for the price of a dvd or a cinema ticket but 30 is really steep imo

I agree, but, it's good for families I guess who will get it cheaper rather than going to the cinema. Living on your own is the pain. Maybe invite some people over for a viewing of Mulan?

$30 for a remake of a classic film which has removed almost everything good about the original?

It's like they want it to bomb.

Jeez it actually deserves to fail - there's no songs, no Mushu, no hot trainer guy, no Shan Yu (evil Hun leader) ... what's the point why give money to the Rat when you can watch one of the squillion other versions of Mulan?

asking for $30 to RENT this bloody thing is pure cheek...

Probably about £20 or so give or take when converted, I think.

I think the idea is good, as much as it's **** for cinemas, the fact is they are one of the worst places you can go atm and I think streaming is something a lot of studios will have to embrace for their big releases but I do think the price needs work.

It costs me around a tenner to see a film in cinemas so to ask for £20 for a rental is fairly ridiculous. I understand that more people can generally watch a film together for cheaper than the cinemas when streamed but the price still needs to come closer to what cinema prices. The most I'd probably pay to rent a new film I really wanted to see would be about £15 I think and that's probably only if I could guarantee someone to watch it with to justify the price. Plus having it appear on a streaming service that you already pay for is a bit of a kick in the teeth.

It's a good idea for the most part but they need to work on the pricing.

30 bucks rental is going to be an epic fail. I actively hope it fails miserably so that others dont consider taking the same approach

I don't see the point of remaking Mulan without I'll Make a Man Out Of You BUT I remember there was a very positive reaction to the film back when it was doing special previews (It was originally slated to be released in March so a lot of the promo stuff was already in motion). The film will likely be quite excellent, if that early buzz is to be believed.

Oh I don't doubt it'll turn out to be a good film, at its core it's a good story, it's Sweet Polly Oliver innit <3

But my thing is why support the Rat when there are loads of Chinese-made versions of it, and smaller indie versions too...

Ugh I wanted to like this but it was bad wasn't it lets face it. Like someone said let's remake Mulan but take all the emotion, struggle and heart out of it.

I enjoyed it, it wasn't really Mulan but I saw it as Disney's take on Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. In that respect, it's a pretty good film, I think.
