She's a politician, of course she's a liar
![]() Lots of higher-ups have been ignoring accusations levelled at their friends and colleagues tbh. I'm just surprised it's only been five months since she first knew.

Shes just like jacinda, a fake people pleaser, she'd offer you the world just to stay in power, then plays the victim when it all goes wrong.

I can't see where fat comes into this.
Furthermore I'd say no she's not. Politicians have shown perhaps misguided loyalty to colleagues all through. We have a PM doing so now. However, hasn't Alex Salmons just been tried for the allegations and been acquitted on all 14 charges. So what was there to lie about or cover up. Whenever, whatever she may have known, a due course of investigation also by the police was done. He stood trial. Fought the charges and was acquitted. Had he been found guilty that would have been different of course. As it is, he appears to have had nothing to answer to anyway. So maybe her position was more appropriate. Acting or raising the issue whenever known, clearly wasn't going to matter, since he was I say again acquitted on ALL 14 charges. Or do others know more than the judges on this. One wonders why we waste money and time on courts. I'd imagine more likely, this inquiry too has little legs to run on. Since he denies any wrongdoing in the main. He won the sexual cases. I doubt this will amount to more than what those allegations did too. Last edited by joeysteele; 19-08-2020 at 07:56 AM. |

Salmond sued the government over its handling of the allegations in August 2018 after its conclusions were leaked to the media, and won. |

she didn't get to be leader of her party without crushing a few people on the way, and if she had to turn a blind eye to get there, she would.

So I don't see what this is likely to achieve now. So I don't see how it matters when, or what or if she knew. She's not perfect, no one is, I'm certainly not. It all sounds messy but I don't go along with the Sturgeon condemnation. Good grief, politics is full of shady and backstabbing occurrences. We even had a Brother destroying his older Brothers chances of party leadership by competing against him. To be surprised negatively by much in politics now, would leave us, in my view, being not much else actually. |

Why on earth too is anyone surprised at all that one of the main aims of the SNP and any leader of the SNP is to always work towards any chance of independence.
The clue is in the Party's name. I can't see where Nicola Sturgeon's push for independence is in any way a negative about her. It's what's expected from her party that she has to fight for. Which she is. She doesn't get much wrong from what I've seen and heard from her all through. Last edited by joeysteele; 19-08-2020 at 10:15 AM. |

He was found not guilty on all charges so can she be held accountable for any thing?
The only cock up I can see is, the accusations were leaked to the media. |

Yes, and they made a big show of him. And yet we still don't know the name of the Conservative politician accused of rape. He has "decided" not to return to the Commons in September, but Boris's refusal to suspend him was outrageous.
