They better open. People have to get back to normal at some point...

Unfair to take away festivals / clubs / fun things to do because about 10 (vulnerable/unhealthy) people are dying a day in a country of 60M. Way More people a day are dying of car accidents.. are we removing cars?

Im sure its affecting a lot of young peoples mental health too. Genuinely. Socialising at a weekend is important. Especially when unis start up again. Nights out are a must for that

Offering another activity is so annoying, well just do X instead. Maybe people don’t want to go to the pub and want to go clubbing? Going to the pub doesnt make people who want to go clubbing no longer want to go clubbing?

Many Young people that enjoy socialising enjoy clubbing

This, in all honesty.

I have followed lock down to the absolute letter of the law. But had.it happened when I was in my late teens / early 20s.....I would have been going to all the illegal raves.

I can't actually believe some of the immature whining (no, this isn't aimed at you Jake). But, yes, annoying that a few recreational activities are being held off a little longer but it's not going to be forever and we're not fully locked down anymore so it's not like there aren't alternatives for the time being.

I agree....now it seems ridiculous to me that any one would want to do anything that poses any risk. I personally haven't been to a pub, restaurant, had a take out or really mixed with anyone but family and a few very good friends (my dad is high risk so not worth it if I have to choose between him and.a piss up).....BUT as a late teen / early twenties, I lived to club. I had no responsibilities, no dependents etc and so would have been really fed up by now so I can get it a bit. Unfortunately, a packed, sweaty, noisy club is bound to be a breeding ground for any virus but people have the right to a bit of a moan imo.

I’m assuming you mean me, not very subtle at all...

I mean a little while longer? It’s already been 6 months.. it’s likely to be another 6 months.

1 year is a Long time, especially when being a young adult is typically 18-25, 7 years. A lot of people her responsibilities by their late twenties, and so it’s not just a ‘small amount of time’ it’s a large amount of time lost.

It might not impact you because You seem to be an introvert, but a lot of people who enjoy socialising enjoy activities like this. It would be understandable if hundreds of people were dying a day, but they’re not.. People should be sensible, if they live with vulnerable people don’t go.. if they work with vulnerable people don’t go.. but the majority of young people live alone or with other young people, and half the workforce are still working from home

Oh they do have the right to be fed up. It's understandable. We can't help the way we feel.

But we can help the way we communicate the way we feel and I find the people trying to minimise the pandemic and act as though the vulnerable members of society we're trying to protect are an inconvenience to them doing something that in the grand scheme of things is not very important is very immature IMO.

But, largely, the pandemic has put life and everything into perspective for a great number of people which on the flip side is a brilliant thing.

Oh I totally get that, in my teens up until about 22 I wouldn't have given Covid a second thought. I wouldn't have cared that it existed, I wouldn't have cared if I caught it, and I wouldn't have cared about anyone else getting it. I find it hard to judge young people too harshly for not taking any of it seriously.
