I'm afraid, modern films don't grip me like those.

I find black and white movies more interesting for some reason .. even newer ones in Black and White as well

Human centipede was a touching portrayal of the closeness of human relationships.

Oscar

Actually any film with an animal getting hurt or is in danger is my kryptonite. I can watch countless humans being mowed down with bullets or tortured, but a little dog loses his friends or something, and I'm out.

When I was a kid, there was a cinema in Oxford running lassie films on saturday afternoons. My sister took me one week, and I screamed the place down and had to leave.

I read the synopsis of that film a few years ago and I actually felt physically sick for the whole day afterwards

Maquia is the latest, I didn't find it too emotional until the very end and then I was in bits. Grave of the Fireflies utterly ruined me for the rest of the day, The typical Ghibli films like When Marnie Was There and The Wind Rises ruined me as well.

Beyond that it's the typical stuff really, most Pixars get me although with Toy Story 3, the incinerator part didn't get me tbh, it was the ending where Andy plays with Woody for the final time and hands him over which completely turned me into a teary puddle.

...awww, Grave of the Fireflies was one of mine as well, it was heartbreaking......(...but beautiful...)...I’ll try to see if I can watch Maquia, but I’m not sure that I’ll be able to on the channels I have, though...

War Horse especially the scene where Topthorn dies. I don’t think I’ve ever been so teary that much at a film before.

The only others I can think of that make me sad is:

Harry Potter & the Philosophers Stone - The scene where he looks in the Mirror Of Erised and sees his parents. I always find that hard to watch especially once the music starts playing.

Iceage 1 - The part where they are walking through the cave and they see all the mammoth drawings on the wall and it shows what happened with Mannys previous family
