I enjoyed the first one although I hope this one isn't as padded. Like The Last Of Us 2, it went on a bit too long, I thought.

The first one went on my unfinished games list, I found the combat a little slow and repetitive ... And I found that it couldn't decide if it wanted to be "open" or more of an on rails experience. I think I'd have liked it more if it had chosen a lane... Either a tighter purely story-driven linear narrative, or an actual open world. It felt to constrained to feel open, but too open to deliver a cinematic experience. Even TLOU2 while I agree it was a little puffy round the middle (probably about 2 or 3 hours too long) it was at least a clear linear experience. I found myself wandering about sort of aimlessly a bit too often in GoW wishing the story would hurry up and progress.
