Don’t put dish cloths in the tumble dryer, soak them in bleach water and let them dry naturally

...a few different country traditions for flying the nest to a first/new home etc...there are many, obviously...but some wouldn’t be possible or practical...

...burn a scented candle on your first day/evening..or as soon as practical ...a scent that you particularly love ...to add ‘your presence’ to your new home because you’ve arrived and are a part of that home...

...take a little salt and a little bread with you...the taking bread/meaning is for any of you to never be hungry...and the salt apparently represents that your food will never be ‘basic’ because of hard times financially...

...ring a bell...(..well, use the bell sound on your phone options...)...to symbolise the celebration of your new home and new life...something to definitely celebrate with bell ringing and such the like...

...I would always say, take gifts as well...chocolates, popcorn snacks, treats etc and maybe offer to buy the first shared Advent calendar as well...so long as you get to open Christmas Day...

...such a lovely next step in your life, Babs...I wish you joy in your new home.....

...it’s also traditional to buy treats for the whole Internet forum if you happen to be a member of one...Otherwise, it might bring a whole world of bad luck, just too much to risk...

Really impressed with Denver's advice.
All excellent.

It was easy for me, once I moved on from the family home, because then I got Cousins moving in with me.
Then at present I have my Mum with me from Republic of Ireland.

So it's like I'm back in a family home again.

I hope all goes well for you Marc.
Just try not to be the one who ends up doing everything, if sharing with others.
